I guess this would be expected the government insiders would take the guaranteed money if they know. I doubt blocking out all of Argentina will stop them.

No way they can stop this. If there is a market out there to bet and make money then the government officials are going to take advantage of it.
And it seems like based on what the President is doing there are no recourse at all and it's free reign to do whatever people want.

There is a lot more coverage in the news lately about Milei and his administration. He might have a trial after all with the Libra grift. And all the evidence looks clear cut. People are running out of patience.

At this point they are all kind of a joke. Milei, Karina, Adorni.
Listen to this. It's kind of a joke outside of Argentina what a joke Milei has become.
I think all politicians in Argentina will probably always be the caste that they say they are fighting against. I am not sure why Adorni keeps going on news programs. Every time I turn on the TV I see him doing some interview. He really is not a good public speaker and he digs himself more and more in the hole. Karina has like a 2% approval rating.

As an outsider this is what I don't understand. Doesn't Milei and his cabinet know that his sister is not well liked or respected? Not only by locals but outsiders see her as incompetent. Like why in the world would they have her address or speak to any investors in the USA or Canada? She doesn't speak English! I don't understand this administrations thinking on this.
I haven't been in Argentina long but from the short time I am here it doesn't seem like there is anyone giving the President good advice. It seems like his sister is the one that gives him most of the advice. It just seems like things are coming off the rails or at least it seems like that based on the media which I admit may want him out.

It seems like the media will keep pushing and pushing. I see his top staff getting pummeled. They keep finding more properties he owns while supposedly making very little his entire life.

I think Adorni is getting more and more complicated. Every time he tries to clarify something, he just ends up digging himself deeper. Today the broker who sold the flights also testified in the case, which made things even worse for him.
And that arrogant attitude doesn’t help at all. Instead of building trust, it just creates more rejection. Honestly, at times it reminds me of Cristina K’s style of responding, like he’s above everything.

I think it's more the point that his real estate is stacking up by the day and what he claimed he was making isn't mathing. Let's see how many other properties come to light.

Argentine politics is comical. You can't make this stuff up. Milei has a lot of dumb people in his administration. We always have corruption in Argentina but most of them don't leave such a paper tail like them. Milei, his sister, his associates. It is funny to watch this train wreck.

I saw that in the news about him getting busted and lying about buying an apartment. I posted my nightmare buying. I guess now I know it's not just a nightmare for foreigners! Can someone explain to me why they just don't make him quit? I don't understand what benefit they have keeping Adorni on as Cabinet Chief. What do they gain from keeping him on? Every day more stuff comes out. Seems stupid not to replace him already.

The funny thing is it sounds like he got two old women that likely were just paid some small fee to be a straw woman. Like most Argentines he didn't declare most of his income so he can't justify the money to purchase all these properties. He has to be the dumbest politician out there to not think this through before going into politics.
I have never heard of anyone financing a property. That property in question is worth double what he says he bought it at and he still couldn't justify his income.
That is the problem with Milei. He did the same thing with his sister who obviously was involved in the Libra scam. Instead of doing the smart thing and just cut them loose he defends them when the guy has a 9% approval rating (Adorni). This is no way to run a re-election bid. But it is likely that Adorni probably has dirt on Milei so he doesn't dare cut him loose.
Argentine politics are a crazy thing.

They all lie, cheat and steal. This was not unique to Cristina. Who is to say that Milei's are not worse.
Now they find out that Banco la Nacion is giving out big mortgages to all the politicians family and friends. My friends that are doctors and have good jobs get turned down for mortgages but all Milei's friends are getting mortgages. And imagine! This guy wanted to privatize the bank. They say they are libertarians but they are a bunch of opportunists and cheaters.
