The scraps are left for us now and it is expensive. All good stuff is exported. Now they want to replace it with donkey meat.In my opinion, one of the main reasons why meat is so expensive in Argentina is the amount of taxes and costs throughout the entire supply chain.
From the farm to the butcher shop, everything carries added costs, expensive transportation, and an unstable economy that keeps pushing prices up.
If tax pressure isn’t reduced and the economy isn’t stabilized, it’s hard to see meat becoming affordable again for everyone. A tax reform should be addressed urgently. Meanwhile, the focus often seems to be on other discussions, like the glacier law, when for everyday people the real urgent issue is the cost of living.
Yuck. I just saw that they started selling donkey meat in Argentina because beef prices are so high. Disgusting for a country with so much beef.
That goes to show you how desperate some are. They would NEVER have sold donkey meat in Argentina before. Very taboo. It's about half the cost of beef but I wonder if anyone is buying this. Maybe they want to try to use this as "beef" in the inflation index. 😀They eat donkeys in some countries. But hard to believe they are marketing this in Argentina with so much beef. Never tasted donkey but can't imagine I'd willingly eat it.
I am not sure how many are actual eating it but they did sell it in some places in other cities. I doubt they are selling in CABA but I could be wrong. I think they are using this more as a political narrative to show just how bad things have become for some under Milei. What the actual F#?!. They are pushing to eat donkeys now in Argentina. Wow.
Is it good Craig? I hear it is low in fat. 🤣I'm pretty sure my wife feeds me donkey meat whenever I've been bad 🙂
Hard to tell, it usually comes with a side of anger 🙂Is it good Craig? I hear it is low in fat. 🤣
Yes they are selling this now. I've been watching some news the past few days and they had reporters at a few butchers. Not sure to be honest where they were at but the reporters were the ones normally on BA news in BA. Probably taste ok but the mere thought of Argentines eating donkeys when they have so much beef is a hard pill to swallow. What the actual F#?!. They are pushing to eat donkeys now in Argentina. Wow.
🤣🤣🤣Hard to tell, it usually comes with a side of anger 🙂
Have you tasted it? Are you going to eat some donkey?Argentina should start importing Kangaroo meat from Australia. Kangaroos are actually overpopulated and destroying the eco system, there is a government sanctioned cull taking place. Kangaroo meat is mostly used in dog food but humans can eat it too, there are some kangaroo restaurants
Have you tasted it? Are you going to eat some donkey?
Yuck!Yeah I've eaten kangaroo, it's not great, tastes like a really bad steak actually it tastes like how I imagine donkey would taste (I've never eaten donkey unless they put it in the fried rice at some comida por peso place)

This reporter tried the donkey and It was so tough she almost lost her dentures!Yeah I've eaten kangaroo, it's not great, tastes like a really bad steak actually it tastes like how I imagine donkey would taste (I've never eaten donkey unless they put it in the fried rice at some comida por peso place)
