The Government activated the anti-picketing protocol and the protesters try to advance in the streets. The ATE demanded that the list of gnocchi be “published” and reiterated the request for a salary increase that exceeds inflation

March and protest of the ATE in front of the Ministry of Economy
The march of the protesters from the Association of State Workers (ATE) generated scenes of tension in front of the Ministry of Economy , where the national government implemented the anti-picketing operation to contain the claim.

During this noon, the police cordon advanced on the protesters who wanted to advance on the streets to restrict vehicular circulation. And there the focus of tension was generated, on the one hand the police with their shields delimiting the protest and on the other the protesters repelling the police advance.

At the moment there were some slaps in the air, crossings between the uniformed men and the protesters: nervousness on both sides. Around 12:20, the ATE workers who mobilized, columned and flanked by the Police, overflowed and , amidst the smoke of the flares, clashed with the forces of order.

The shouting, on the one hand from those who wanted to attack the police and, on the other, from those who wanted to calm the waters, generated some intermittent runs in the middle of the union harangue that fueled the protest.

The ATE is carrying out a national strike today for 24 hours . And the general secretary of the union, Rodolfo Aguiar, stated today that the measure " is forceful in every country " and stated that the union "demands the Government to publish the list of gnocchi", in reference to the dismissed workers who, according to the official version, they did not fulfill any task.

“If the Government does not publish a list of the alleged gnocchi, it has to determine the reinstatement and immediate payment of salaries to all those dismissed, because up to this point it has not been able to prove in any case the reason invoked of “non-provision of services.” "added the union member in a message published on his X account.

The forceful measure received unanimous support from delegates from across the country after the union analyzed the situation in a plenary session that brought together more than 1,500 representatives from all sectors of the National State. However, in this second they marched towards the Ministry of Economy , located at Hipólito Yrigoyen 250, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) .

“After yesterday's day of fighting, we stopped the state forces. Without workers there is no State, without State there are no rights,” said the union, indicating that the mobilization will begin at 12 noon. Regarding the actions that will be carried out in the interior of the country, they indicated that these will be coordinated according to the district.

In this way, the state union stressed that the claim will seek to reincorporate workers whose contracts were not renewed; that the layoffs stop; that contractual ties be regularized and that employees be transferred to the permanent plant; and a salary increase that exceeds the inflation rates recorded in the first months of the year.

In the list of complaints, ATE included a request to stop adjustment policies in the sector and a statement rejecting the privatization of public companies, the closure of the Sustainability Guarantee Fund (FGS) and retirees, and against the annulment of the Anti-Mobilization Protocol. In addition, they reported intimidation against state employees.

“This escalation of the conflict in the State is not our responsibility, but rather it is the direct responsibility of the Government headed by President Javier Milei , which has decided to unleash an unusual level of aggression and attack on all of our labor rights,” Aguiar accused after that the reasons behind the claim be renewed. He even explained that it was not enough to ask that the workers who were removed from their positions be reinstated.

In this sense, the head of ATE pointed out: "For us, it is not enough just to have the strategy of resisting and defending ourselves against layoffs, but we have to be able to debate what is really happening in Argentina." Under the same line of speech, the union leader warned that "behind these massive layoffs in the State, what is at stake is what State we are going to have in the coming years."

Days ago, Aguiar denounced that the Executive Branch had moved forward illegally by making an abrupt cut in personnel, since more than 11 thousand people were dismissed from all ministries and other public organizations. The Government responded that the cases mentioned corresponded to hiring that was not renewed, so they would not fall within the category of dismissals.

On the other hand, the conflict could extend, because the president anticipated that 70 thousand people who hold positions in the public administration will be fired, as part of the public spending reduction program. Likewise, the measure of deducting the day for those public employees who are absent from their jobs will continue to be in force.

The policy had been announced on March 7, that is, before the call for Women's Day, when the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni , announced: “Those who do not go to work will have their wages deducted. day. But that's not because of Women's Day, it was always like that. From the first strike we announced that employees who do not work will be deducted for the day.”
