New wave of shutdowns and layoffs puts Argentine industry on alert

Mercado Libre has got rid of 3,000 people this year in Argentina. Lots of other tech companies and white collar are laying off as well. Certainly at least partially AI related.
It isn't just Argentina. My nephew that works at Amazon in the US just got laid off. He is an engineer. Many are outsourcing to AI and also cheaper stuff in India. It's terrible. He has been unemployed for a while now. He thought computer engineering would be a promising career but he said that AI is going to ruin it for the industry. Computers can do it better once they are trained. They don't need many humans.

Another company go out of business and leave 470 people in the street. And they sent a WhatsApp message to the employees to tell them!
