I forgot to mention why I used my AR passport instead of only my DNI. A few weeks ago I renewed my DNI because I've moved to a new apartment in a new barrio. And of course the normal, non-express DNI takes 15-25 business days and naturally it's not ready yet. On Renaper website when you track the progress of your new DNI, it does say that your current DNI is not valid anymore and that you can use the digital version in Mi Argentina app. I kind of had this thought in the back of my mind so that's why I brought my AR passport as a backup. Sure enough, once I handed my DNI to the immigration officer, he said my DNI wasn't valid and asked if I had renewed it etc and I answered yes and that I'm still waiting for the new DNI to arrive. So he said I couldn't leave Argentina with this invalid DNI. I said I have the digital version but he said no to that too. So, I gave him my passport and he said yes I could go with my passport. Had I not brought my passport, I would have lost the return ticket which cost over 200,000 pesos.
