I tried it but didn't like it. I went to a bbq where everyone was passing around a mate and then the next week they were all sick. Doesn't sound fun passing around the same straw. No thanks.

Same. I had some friends that went to Dev Connect in BA. They were all sharing the same straw drinking mate and most of them ended up getting the flu and sick for over a week. It does not take a genius to understand that this is not sanitary.
