The chances of the Argentine economy falling into recession already reach 99%, according to Di Tella University

I think the sh*t will eventually hit the fan. Lots of people complaining. I don't see things as sustainable. The Central Bank just published a report and delinquencies continue to skyrocket. Personal loans segment hits 12% an all time high.

It didn't take a genius to figure this out but Di Tella University just announced 99% chance of a recession in the next 6 months. Hell, we already are in one.

We have been in a recession the past few months. It seems to be getting worse too. 🙁

In speaking to people it matches what this poll says. People don't want to go back to the past (the half that voted for Milei) but 67% of everyone said that things are very bad now.

I don't think it takes some expert panel from a University to tell you that things are terrible here!

what was amazing and understandable is the forgein company owner sold out and fled when milei opened up the borders to trade. the lost their captive consumers and had to compete with the outside world. the reverse of that is happening in the usa. although….. the supreme court just voted to block trumps tarriffs as illegal

Many companies are taking the opportunity with Milei to leave and sell. The ones that weren't quick enough are going under. Argentina can't compete with imported market. They are too expensive. The same thing would happen if Trump had his way and got manufacturing in the USA. The price of stuff would skyrocket. Real life example how that wouldn't work.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario. Argentina seems like it's not fixable.

This photo is probably a joke but in essence it is exactly what people voted for. Milei is carrying forward his plans to tighten spending, increase costs of utilities and some might not have known that they would suffer but a good chunk of Argentines are suffering for the greater good of fixing Argentina. We are only 2 years in and we don't know if it will succeed or not. But remember that most people voted for him because the status quo wasn't working out and they had to try something different.

Good article that discusses this.

Recession is for certain. We are already in one. Look at all the data.

- Drop in consumption
- Unemployment is skyrocketing
- Companies, stores, restaurants going out of business and declaring bankruptcy
- Loss in purchasing power
- Inflation heading back up
- Increase and poverty and noticeable increase of homelessness and people sleeping on the street
- Few to no investments going on
