President Javier Milei led a new Cabinet meeting this morning in the Eva Perón room that lasted almost an hour and a half after a whirlwind trip to the province of Corrientes where he participated yesterday in the 10th anniversary of the Freedom Club, a libertarian foundation. .

The head of state arrived from the Olivos residence at 8:20, a few minutes after his sister Karina, who also serves as Secretary General of the Presidency, entered the esplanade. Last Thursday, although it had been announced, Milei did not attend, for the first time in her mandate, the meeting of ministers and other officials that was held at Balcarce 50.

Among the ministers, one of those absent was the head of the Interior portfolio, Guillermo Francos, who traveled to Salta today to hold a meeting with the governor of that province, Gustavo Sáenz, and with other leaders from that region of the country such as the man from Catamarca. Raúl Jalil, that of Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo, and that of Misiones, Hugo Passalacqua. There he will try to begin to rebuild the bond with the governors that entered a critical stage after the failure of the debate in particular of the Omnibus Law in the National Congress.

In addition, Francos will be one of the official guests at the events for the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Salta, a combat that was key in the fight for Argentine Independence.

Sandra Pettovello, from Human Capital, was not there either. According to the minister, “she has a severe cold and tomorrow she will resume her usual duties.”

In addition to the President, the Chief of Staff, Nicolás Posse, along with his Vice Minister José Rolandi, participated in the meeting; the ministers Patricia Bullrich (Security), Luis Petri (Defense), Mario Russo (Health), Luis Caputo (Economy), Diana Mondino (Foreign Relations), Mariano Cúneo Libarona (Justice), the Secretary of Legal and Technical, Javier Herrera Bravo , the president of the Central Bank, Santiago Bausili, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem; the presidential advisor, Santiago Caputo, the Secretary of Communication and Press, Eduardo Serenellini and the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni.

Milei, in Corrientes, where he traveled on an official fleet plane, had a brief contact with the radical governor Gustavo Valdés at the airport. Later in his presentation he defended his management, the DNU and the Omnibus Law, and described the National Congress as “a rat's nest.”

One of his targets was the United Republicans deputy, Ricardo López Murphy, whom he described as “a traitor of the ideas of freedom” who “worked for a social democrat” (in reference to the former Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires , Horacio Rodríguez Larreta) and that “he disguises himself as a liberal and is real trash.”
