Is this real? But how? It has gotten much more expensive. Even the basic basket has exploded up. I think almost 20% last year. How is this happening?

Mike posted yesterday on this. It looks like the informal salaries went up more than formal salaries and the welfare checks went up 30%+ last year which explains it.

I saw in the paper the government is trying to say poverty fell again. Does anyone believe this? With inflation rising, especially with oil prices going up and wages going up less than the rate of inflation over 5 months how is this miracle happening?

Actually poverty probably did fall in 2025. I'm not sure this will be the case moving in the future if inflation keeps going up. I posted about it earlier today.

Private sector formal wages rose 13.2%, public sector wages went up 10.2% and informal "black" wages went up 23.3%.

Now the government is counting public assistance in the total. I just posted on another post my maid with 3 kids told me her welfare payments went way up with Milei. So basically he is buying their votes that way. As long as their welfare and social assistance payments go up probably will buy more time.

I don't believe poverty went down. Look around! There are more people sleeping on the streets than ever!
