So much for cutbacks with the government. Milei set up a new office to debunk "lies" about him. 🤣

There is always a news cycle "in favor" and "against" the current govt. I remember hearing "against" news so for so many months prior to the mid-terms and see how the mid-terms came out to be. So, probably as long as the country is on the right track and better than previous 40 years, he will get re-elected (unless he goofs up one big thing).
Do you really think that Milei and his sister can keep their hands out of stealing $$? His sister got caught. He got caught. It continues. He will goof up again. There is always a news cycle "in favor" and "against" the current govt. We just need strong candidate. You know John everything changes in 1-2 years and nothing changes over 10-20 years. His chances of reelection depend on the ability of the oposition to agree on a decent candidate.
They are in a bigger mess , so he will be reelected....
I guess hay plata after all.So much for cutbacks with the government. Milei set up a new office to debunk "lies" about him. 🤣
Okay so here is the thing, if 2 parties steal, and everyone knows that, no doubts.Do you really think that Milei and his sister can keep their hands out of stealing $$? His sister got caught. He got caught. It continues. He will goof up again.

No doubts??? You sound new to Argentina. What imaginary expectation? The country is falling apart! Look at all the homeless.Okay so here is the thing, if 2 parties steal, and everyone knows that, no doubts.
First party has been stealing for 40 years and people have seen the consequences. Now, the second party is stealing but there is an imaginary expectation that things could be positive, who would one vote for?
Sometimes being new brings new perspective that old aren't able to perceive. I am new, I agree, but help me understand. No doubts??? You sound new to Argentina. What imaginary expectation? The country is falling apart! Look at all the homeless.
Don’t you see stores closing and unemployment rising? What world are you living in?
New can be ok but I wouldn't dismiss the old-timers or people from Argentina. There are a lot of boom and bust cycles when people said this time is different. Some stuff is working. Others not so much. Some people have hope (just like they did in other cycles) but then that hope can only last so long.Sometimes being new brings new perspective that old aren't able to perceive. Are you saying there was no homelessness, no stores closing, no unemployment before dec 2024 and all this is new? I saw many old news on Youtube before coming to Argentina, it just sounded to me the same probably worse e.g. barter system, etc.
I come from that part of the world, where what I see here is not normal at all. But, what I see the direction in which this country is going (towards open economy) is what I called positive expectation.
So, I will once again say, if there is some sort of positive expectation that could happen, people will take it and thats what happened in mid-terms, IMO.
precisely my point! If the coin toss has fallen this time on the side of the current govt, they need to be given 4 years (or more) to prove that the chance was worth it or not. To expect a miracle and loose patience is undoing all positives that may or may not happen with time.New can be ok but I wouldn't dismiss the old-timers or people from Argentina. As long as people can hang on to hope but lots of hope is fading too. I think it is a coin toss to be honest.
Good advice. I have been through a few cycles. Best is to enjoy Argentina no matter who is in office. I learned a while ago you can complain but it doesn't really matter. I have a paid off apartment in BA now and although prices have gone up, it doesn't matter to me who is in office. I assume all politicians are stealing in Argentina and most are full of sh*t. I don't think Milei is any different.New can be ok but I wouldn't dismiss the old-timers or people from Argentina. There are a lot of boom and bust cycles when people said this time is different. He has goofed up plenty of times. But then again they all do in Argentina. Seen many Presidents come and go since I bought my place in Palermo back in 2003. @Nasdaq said it right that things go good until they don't.There is always a news cycle "in favor" and "against" the current govt. The best way to figure out if there is positive expectation is to talk to people in the street and locals. Poor, rich, middle class. So far it's split on if things will work out or not. In taxis and Ubers I ask and it's split with half swearing Milei is improving things and half calling him a hijo de puta.Sometimes being new brings new perspective that old aren't able to perceive.
