Hi Betsy. Thanks. Yes, this is a great area. It's funny because when I started buying real estate in 2002, I figured that this area would boom. It was very shady back in the early 2000's in Palermo Hollywood but I knew Soho and Hollywood would boom. People thought I was crazy back then but I was sure it would boom. The rooftop is insane. Mostly I'm looking for properties like this with private outdoor space, especially rooftops.

This is a 113 year old property. It's cool as after I bought it, one of my reporter friends in BA I sent him the listing telling him I purchased it and he sent an old article from almost 3 years ago telling me he wrote about the house. So it's cool to know the entire 113 year history of the house. I bought it from the original owner's granddaughter who was really nice.

I wanted to preserve the old details of the property and glad I did. It turned out great.

@Wally It took about 7.5 months to complete the renovation which is really great pace for a renovation of this scope. I basically destroyed everything but the walls. And even some walls I knocked out.

What a fascinating story and history of the house. I always wondered about some of these buildings. Most times it stays in the family until the grandkids or great grandkids want to sell which sounds like was the case. Looked at the Airbnb listing and it is very beautiful. I wondered the same thing when I was looking on Zonaprop. Almost all of the properties except new properties looked like a war zone. It has improved a little. That is why new construction is preferred and more expensive. @earlyretirement you did a great job. I always admire people that are able to handle a project like this here.

One of my friends started a renovation and the contractor ran off with the money. I heard that is common here.
