It sounds like many foreigners are interested in this program. I talked to a Chinese guy that I met in the mall at Alto Palermo and it was interesting. He said that many of his extended family are coming here next year with this program. His cousin owns a large chain of Chinese mini-markets around Buenos Aires. He said that they only will hire family they trust and will invest the money to get them a store. I'm not sure why they don't just do it the normal way but it sounds like they have plenty of money.

Probably not in Buenos Aires as the public schools I heard there are terrible. But where I live in San Diego it has some of the best public schools in the USA. People buy houses here based on the schools. All 3 of my kids went to public schools and I bet they beat most private schools. But then again the average house here is around $3 million bucks. But my kids School is full of Chinese and other Indian and Asian kids moving to the area.

Speaking of Palermo Chico, Mike and I were having dinner at the restaurant was full of Chinese people that the manager said lived in the area of Palermo Chico. He said they are regulars and the best customers they have. They had a birthday party and were easily half of the restaurant and they were ordering tons of wine and steaks all night. They were all speaking Chinese. I don't know if they could all speak Spanish but at least 2 of the guys paying were speaking Spanish.

I wonder if real estate prices will skyrocket like it has in Canada? I assume so if they start to move to the area.

The wealthy Chinese are going everywhere. My sister in Orange County said more and more rich Chinese are moving into her area. Seems like they will seek out the best neighborhoods so Palermo probably will skyrocket. Belgrano and Nunez too. I also noticed more in Palermo Chico lately.

What seems lost on most people here is the offer of citizenship, and for such a modest investment. That combined with cheap real estate is going to drive a lot of Chinese investment. The only thing holding it all back is the recession in China right now which is mostly real estate driven.

I think you are right. I would think if someone was smart and offer a Chinese/Spanish curriculum there could be a good opportunity. These citizenship programs are very popular. My brother that lives in Portugal told me they had so many they had to shut it off.

My parents are Chinese. I am first generation American. I think you are right Craig. Argentina seems like if they have a successful elections they can make real progress. Taxes here still seem screwed up. Too expensive on things because of the taxes but if they can fix that and there is a commodities boom, seems like Argentina will explode with growth.

$500k for many Chinese is nothing and will be worth it for guaranteed citizenship. If they allow real estate purchases to be counted I feel like it's going to skyrocket like Australia or Canada. That is probably in the cards. And I would have to guess it's going to be the popular neighborhoods that are nice that have biggest appreciation.

I am glad I already own a property here in Palermo. I could have sold in 2018 for a small fortune. Prices went down but have been going up since Milei won. I think prices will blow past peak levels.

Wow that is one nice area. I have been to San Diego many times. That looks like the Rancho Santa Fe area? That is the nicest part of San Diego. You had good timing if you purchased there in 2010. I kick myself for not buying something there. My brother lives in Del Mar and he tried to get me to buy something here. Lots of land were very cheap then. I can't imagine what they cost now.

As usual agree with you Craig. Many Chinese want out of China and all of these various CBI schemes in different countries are going to drive billions around the world. It seems like each year there are more and more Chinese in Buenos Aires and I think this is a positive. They are hard workers from what I can tell. Incredible how many corner stores there are now owned by the Chinese. If I was younger I agree with you that someone that puts in the time to build a private school catered to the Chinese or other foreigners will make a lot of money.

I just saw that video you posted on X and I haven't seen an area like that in California that has such a low density of houses. Did you say you are only 15 minutes to the beach? I love California. Especially Southern Calfornia but it has gotten too expensive for the average person to live there. If you weren't lucky enough to already buy there you will never be able to afford a place there now. I have friends in Orange Country, LA and San Diego and in all of those places a typical shack is over $1 million now.
