Is rice better in Brazil ?

I went to Ichiban supermarket today in barrio chino. Surprisingly, the price of jasmine rice (5kg) has remained the same since October last year. Unfortunately, no discount is given even if your entire purchase exceeds 60K (cash payment only).
Great that prices are staying stable. What was the exchange rate back then? Actually that means in dollar prices the price went down right @Jakoval because the dollar is stronger now vs. last year.

Wait are you saying @Jakoval that they require cash only? I thought I heard that all stores had to accept debit cards. Is that true? Or can some stores only charge cash still?

No. That's not what I meant. You only get the discount with cash payment. Otherwise, you can pay with cards or whatever.
What is the % cash discount these days? Most of these places will give at least 10% discount if you pay cash. I would guess very few of them are paying the real tax anyway to AFIP.

Idk but I bought an electric razor today and when I asked for a discount paying cash i got a very fast and firm "no.". I could have called their bluff and just walked out but I was feeling lazy and it would have been like a $5 discount anyway

I don't think those electronics stores offer cash discounts. But so far most restaurants still do. It is a good savings now from 10% to 20% off. Adds up.

At Ichiban you get 10% if you buy 60K. I think maybe 15-20% if you reach 100K but I'm not sure. Not all items have discount, though.
I was surprised to get 20% off paying cash but I was going to use a credit card eating steak in Recoleta and they really wanted me to use cash. He saw it in my wallet. Then he offered 20% to pay with cash instead of a credit card. I took it!

20% in Recoleta? Which restaurant? That is a hefty cash discount!

Yes surprising especially being across the street from the 4 Seasons! It was at a great parilla called Piegari Carnes. It is literally across the street from the 4 Seasons Hotel in Recoleta. The place is huge and the waiters dress up. I think it has incredible carne for the prices. And with the 20% cash discount very good price! Before the 20% discount a Filet mignon was 86,000 pesos which is about $58 dollars. Very good size. Delicious.
