How much is typical to pay a maid or housekeeper in Buenos Aires?

Can anyone tell me the going rate to pay a maid or housekeeper here? No one here seems to want to get paid by the month. We initially rented an Airbnb here and found a nice maid and she charges by the hour. I offered her a job to get paid by the month but she doesn't want it. She said she prefers to work by the hour. But what started out as 7,000 pesos an hour she jumped up to 10,000 pesos an hour or a little over $7 USD per hour. That was a big jump.

Now she is asking me to pay for her bus fare into the city too. She is already in the city to clean the Airbnb's. Is it me or do people just want to make the gringo pay more? I can't tell.

I pay 9k an hour.

It was a better deal last month......6,500 pesos
Seems like they keep going up each month. Mine just announced a raise and then told me there would be another one coming next month. Are these raises going to happen every month? Does this go on with all the employees here? I don't get it. Every single month expecting to pay a higher wage?

Maybe it will be easier to hire a company. Are there any companies that come out like Merry Maids in the US? Where I can just pay the company and they will send out whomever they want for the same fixed price?

Well the inflation just keeps going up. It is easier if you can get a salaried maid and just adjust up every quarter of half a year. You can see the true inflation how much things are going up. Most of these maids are asking for increases just to match the increase in their cost of living.

Even if you find a company they will increase them also. Cost of transportation to get around, cleaning supplies, labor, it continuously keeps going up so that won't solve your problem Dick.

A company will probably keep increasing their prices too. But one that my friend uses is Juany. You can see her Whatsapp at the # on her IG.

Just remember if you use a company that has a lot of maids you may not want the traffic of different people coming through. @Dick you mentioned the need for a good safe so I assume you're going to have cash in that safe. Unless the safe is hidden behind a wall or something, those maids will know about it and that is usually where you get robbed. Not by the maids but they will tell someone about your safe for a potential break in. Happened to people I know.
