a Spanish passport so she uses that
so she has a USD account linked to her Spain citizenship, and Argentina doesn't know about it? this would be very useful for the many Argies who have Italian/Spanish banking from their ancestry...but for the other half of the folks here, i still am not sure what the best way of paying USD in the USA would be. i haven't looked-up Wise...what does it offer an Expat in Argentina, with USD and ARS bank accounts? @Jenn

This is what my friends do here. Many of them have an EU passport and they opened up a Wise account and Argentina doesn't know about it. Many do gigs on the side and get paid with Wise. I signed up and it works great. I am a US Citizen.

I talked to a few locals and they use Wise but not sure of all the differences but I have a virtual debit card assigned to my account and I added it to Apple Pay. I have to add a PIN each time I use it. I have a few rental properties and I just have the tenants pay me. I can send them an invoice to their email or cellphone and it pays from that and instantly gets credited to my Wise account.

think a USA account connected to a Wise account in USD, could be useful for doing transfers when getting Residency?
I don't think so because Wise is not related to Argentina I don't think. All my local friends that use Wise have EU passports. Many are freelance and doing work and get paid via Wise they tell me.
