Entering and Leaving on two different passports to game the system

I am going to hit my maximum time in Argentina on my tourist visa. I will eventually apply for my permanent residency but holding off for now as I'm worried about the taxes as I heard that you are subject to worldwide taxes on assets. I want to sell a house and then get the cash and get that cash off the books so Argentina can't see it. Then I will apply and not include that.

I have come and gone a few times over the past few years but now I am wondering if I can use my USA passport and also I have an EU passport. Can I interchange and swap out to game the system? Some people say to just overstay but I am hearing more and more people that are having issues. I just met an Irish guy that has been living here 5 years and overstayed a few times and his last trip coming back they said that is the last time and they know he is living here.

I also heard that coming and going for day trips is abusing the tourist visa. It sounds like all of it is gaming the system. Will migraciones know if I come in and out on the 2 passports?

Looking for input and advice from you expats that have been here a long time.

With technology now they will know if you have multiple passports. Everything is tracked with biometrics so it may look suspicious to them that you are using multiple passports to game the system. Your fingerprints and facial recognition are all linked. If and when you apply for your DNI you may have issues.

Just overstay and pay. I don't know if that will cause you to have problems when you apply for DNI but will be strange for them to see you traveling around on both passports.

I was told by a few immigration attorneys not to do this. Especially if you are going to apply for DNI. I would just overstay and pay the penalty. In the past it was not the big deal but things could change. It has been like this forever but with Bullrich you don't know. There is a push by many locals to stop Mercosur and be tougher on immigration. Never know when it may change.

Honestly, I think gone are the days for criminals and other people trying to game the system. Computer power is so powerful these days. Many places you don't even scan a passport anymore. You just walk by and they see facial recognition or use fingerprints. Having multiple passport entries is probably going to flag you.

Listen to the others. You will get flagged. Happened to a friend. Biometrics now is a game changer. With these databases and biometrics no more privacy and no more fraud. Very tough for criminals.

Everyone is right. You think you are sneaky but you are not. I have 2 passports.

The only differences between your two passports are: (a) the passport number, (b) the country of issue, (c) the issuing authority, and (d) the issue and expiry dates. Your name, date of birth, place of birth, facial features, and any biometrics remain the same.

Each country maintains a database of individuals—not just passports—who enter their borders. So when someone like “Mary Lemonade,” born on “01 JAN 2000” in “Seattle,” appears in the system more than once, it triggers a flag. Immigration officers then review the records and, if the photos or biometrics match, merge the profiles into a single identity. This process also happens routinely after a passport renewal.

I speak from personal experience, having traveled with multiple passports and documents. I’ve seen firsthand the information displayed on immigration screens in countries like Argentina and Brazil and Peru, which listed every document I’ve ever used to enter or exit. Once, an officer even asked, “Do you also have an Australian passport?” when I arrived using a different one.

They need to deport all of you expats that overstay here for years. Need to never allow you back. Brazil does that. They count each and every day you stay and you can't stay longer and if you do you can't come back.
