Dumb question but what is the best way to eat this salami/chorizo/sausage?

This might be a totally stupid question but what is the best way to eat this? I saw these in the supermarket at Carrefour and bought one. I love salami but this has a skin around it. They are selling them in a basket where people could pick them up and touch them. Do I need to wash it first? Or just remove the outer layer? Normally in Spain you see this sort of thing hanging behind a counter but I saw a few people pick them up and put them back in.

I don't know anything about it. Texture, or which are good or not. I will remove the skin but should I wash it first under water?

Doesn't look too appealing but they are indeed delicious. You can just peel it and eat it. That's what I do. You have to learn to get over your fear of germs here.

I was told that you can just peel and eat but I am laughing because I had the exact same thought as you. My wife washes it with warm water for a bit and she said it makes feeling the skin easier. I am not sure if that affects the taste or not.

Just peel it. I haven't heard of anyone washing that in water. The tap water here isn't too good. I've never gotten sick eating it. Agree it can be a bit of a turn off seeing them in a basket and people touching them. But safe after peeling.
