Can anyone tell me if I can sign up for Internet in Buenos Aires without a DNI?

So this is very frustrating. I am moving into a new apartment and there is no internet and the owner told me I have to sign up myself. I offered to pay her each month for the bill but she is moving to Spain and doesn't want it in her name. I am checking around and they are telling me that I can't sign up for internet without a DNI or CUIL. Is this right? How can signing up for home internet be this painful?

I'm ready to pull out my hair. I don't know many people here and it seems like a burden to ask someone to put a utility under their name. Can you confirm if this is correct?

This was how it was when I first bought my place but that was over a decade ago. But it was frustrating for me too. I had to have my residency before I could put Internet in my own name.

Also keep in mind that not all companies work with all buildings. You have to see if a company will be able to install in your building. I had a heck of a time with that. I think overall Personal is the best company and I know you have to have a DNI/CUIL for them.

I have had to use mine for 2 friends that were in your same situation.

You also have to have a cellphone # which is easy enough but they require that.

I had to have my girlfriend do it for my apartment when I had the year lease. The Airbnbs will all have them but it is annoying as some have the super cheapo/slow plan. I heard that I-Plan you might be able to sign up without a DNI. But in my building they couldn't install it so probably ask the building administration too which companies are set up. I think they need an antenna or cable from the building.

I was in a similar situation a few months ago. My owner suddenly asked me to get my own internet. I went to a few of the companies and I was told i need the DNI.

Finally my agent helped me to get the broadband on my name using my passport without DNI from Personal Palermo. I think they need DNI for some steps (she used hers probably), but after that everything is under my name, it is connected to my local bank account so the money gets auto-deducted. I get all emails from them. You just need someone to go and trouble them enough that they do it for you.

Which location did you go to in Palermo? Can you post the address? I have a friend that is looking to install internet in Palermo and I don't want to use my DNI.

But won't that girl have issues that used hers? I heard from a friend the government does that because they track DNI to income levels and they see spending. I would think that would screw things up for her?

I would also like to know. I have been to Personal and they said I had to have a DNI. Be careful they don't shut it off @bapal. A friend had Personal and some how they got it (that is why I went there) and they wouldn't let me and worse yet about 4 months later they shut off my friends. I think they do an audit once in a while. Same thing happened at a bank. My friend opened up a bank account without DNI and then a few months later they said oops we weren't supposed to do that and shut it down.
