Applying for residence from outside of Argentina – I'm married to an Argentine citizen - Need advise please

I am preparing to apply for residency in Argentina as the spouse of an Argentine citizen and would greatly appreciate clarification on a few points.

  1. Processing Time: How long does the residency application process typically take once all documents have been submitted?
  2. Financial Requirements: I’ve encountered conflicting information regarding the need to demonstrate financial solvency. Is it necessary for me to provide proof of independent financial means, or is it sufficient for my Argentine spouse to sponsor me and demonstrate the ability to support us both?

Some sources indicate that financial proof is not required for spouses of Argentine citizens, while others suggest it is a key component of the application. Any up-to-date or firsthand guidance you could provide would be most helpful.

Thanks to anyone that can help!

You should talk to @Jakoval. He was married to an Argentine and he applied for Residency. He posted on the process so I don't have the link but he posted on this.
Jakoval had a ton of great posts on this thread.

When I did my PR, they didn't initially ask me to provide proof of income. However, when they sent me an email to schedule the interview later in the process, they did ask for additional documents (some of which was already given to them but they asked for it again anyway) and one of them was Solvencia Económica del grupo familiar (declaración jurada de ingresos económicos o monotributo) and I used my spouse's proof since I wasn't working. My case took 7 months till the plastic DNI was in my hand. It could have been faster but I was missing the legalization of the antecedentes penales. If I had it ready on the spot along with other documents, I imagine it might have taken around 6 months.
