Anyone purchased the Sol Sulute City Guide?

Has anyone purchased the Sol Salute City guide? I used to read her website years ago but then it just went crazy with spam and advertising. It looks like she changed it back to not advertisements everyone and looks better.

I just got an email for her city guide. Has anyone bought it? Worth the $30 bucks?

Agree about all the spammy advertisement. I stopped going to her website as I couldn't even read it. There was advertisement boxes everywhere.

These days people don't really want to pay for guides because there is so much content free online. But at least she said it would have free lifetime updates.

I'm on the fence of buying it. I subscribe to her site. I got an email that said use code THANKYOU for 50% off so only $15. Probably will sign up to see if there isn't anything I don't already know.

There is not much these days that you can't just do a simple search on Google or Chat GPT and get tons of options. Even forums like Trip Advisor have died. Not too many people use them. Too much content free online. I'm not paying for stuff that is free all over IG or Tik Tok.

When I come down I'll probably take a flyer on it. The way I see it is it's not so much so for the information but the curation of what's recommended all in one place. There will undoubtedly be many I've already heard of and many more I have not. But the biggest value would be using it as a time saver.

Let us know. If you say you learned anything new then I will buy it too. After living here so long I probably already know or now can't afford it! 😢

So I purchased it and for me it'll be worth it. It was about $20 as opposed to 30 from the OP and you also get a free copy to send to someone as well.

Most of it will be in the tourist hot spots but also good info outside of them as well. Probably best and geared towards tourists or newly arrived expats. I can imagine after 6 months or so you will have seen or at least heard of most of the places.

I do like the layout and ease of navigation and how there's an integrated AI feature where you can ask follow up questions. Although the descriptions/reviews are pretty short there's links to each spot's website/IG and google map/reviews for further info.

Yes probably most of us that have lived here a while already know most of those spots. These days I think paid guides days are numbered because of AI and social media it's easy to find the hot spots quickly in real time.

Sometimes it is nice to help people out if they have good content. I visited her website and she has some good info. The tough thing is it was great before free of ads but now there are so many ads now it is hard to enjoy it. But she provides a lot of free information unlike some out there that want you to pay for everything. (I won't mention any names).

If you come across any great places that aren't mentioned please post about it so you can spread the word.
