Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

Wow 😲 I wonder what they do if it's the last ferry for the day. Or if you are stuck in the last ferry back and can't get a hotel or a rent a car ( are there hotels in Colonia ? )

I haven't been to Uruguay in a while but they use an Integrated Control system so they have immigration officials sitting right next to one another on the Uruguay side. So from what I hear people that are getting rejected in Colonia are still on Uruguay side and they just can't board the Buquebus.

I dont' think it's a matter of them getting on the ferry and being let in Argentina. I heard they were getting very strict. In a few cases I know people that were warned when they were leaving Argentina.

@Calgary Foodie , where they allowed on the board? I assume they were rejected on Uruguay side?

Yes this is what is happening. The person that I know was immediately turned away on the Uruguay side and couldn't board.

The visa run days are long gone. You would have to be crazy to keep doing that now. The government already has said no go on those and we keep reading more and more of people getting rejected so it seems like finally they closed this up.
