These guys didn't commit any crimes at all
It doesn't appear they were committing any crimes so I wonder if they were just targeted based on race?
These Moroccans don't sound like they were doing anything. Was it stereotyping based on the color of their skin? Doesn't deporting people cost money? I thought there was no plata?
WTF? i think the original post was illegal immigrants violating Argentine border laws. only a retarded Lefty would mental-gymnastics that into racism...you know you would get deported too, right? god 5% of you on this forum are such morons and should read more and talk less
granted, i can't see the original tweet that @BowTiedMara was quoting since the original poster was suspended, but if someone entered Argentina illegally, that's a crime, and if permatourists illegally overstayed their tourist visa, that's also a crime. what were they deported for, if there was no crime? i think the folks like
@Betsy Ross here are correct. also, i don't want shithole African countries sending undocumented people to Argentina. i also don't want Indonesians or Pakistanis or Indians or Nicaraguans, either. know what the trend is? illegal immigration, coming here and taking resources, and violating the law then playing victim and "racism"
I love Argentina for the ability to just be a perma-tourist! Brazil is very difficult and strict with total # of days you can stay in each time. I hope Argentina doesn't go the same route.
a serious country needs serious borders. sorry... follow the law. you've had a free ride for a long time. time to enforce the existing laws and protect the country from invaders
This carpenter is from Peru, he entered Argentina illegally in 2001 and became a permanent resident 13 years ago. He said that during the time he was undocumented, the police would stop him often asking for money not to take him to jail
imagine how shitty these countries are, that people take this type of risk just to get out of their socialist shithole home countries...the story sounds false, though, considering Peru is
MerCoSur, yeah? so Peruvians can just get residency and enter legally...am i missing something? if it was before MerCoSur, then he could have just left and came back in properly, yeah? i would LOVE to have a
MerCoSur passport right now...
Venezuela. I frequently engage them in conversation and almost all of them are Milei fans and hate the lazy Argentines in society. The Venezuelans are very hard workers.
i told my local weed shop owner (venezuelan) about my struggle with customs/Post Office commies, and they rolled their eyes and said "that's SO Argentine" ahahahhaha. agreed, most people fleeing communism are badasses. it's hilarious that Western folks (like 5% of the Lefties on this forum) think that socialism can work, after we have over 100 years of proof that it just kills millions and makes dictators.
I doubt they will start going after normal tourists that overstay their visas
based on, you pulled that out of your ass?
I never heard of any tourists getting deported
ummmmm:
the customs office said they had to deny my renewal
i love that the 5% of dumbasses here who have argued with me for over a year can see that people are getting denied or deported, yet none of them will have some humility and admit that they were talking out of their ass. OF COURSE Argentina is going to start enforcing the existing laws! i said this from Dec2023 onward, and i'm not a genius. unsurprisingly, the most adamant
'no bro, overstaying and border runs will always be okay because Argentina HaS aLwAyS bEeN tHiS wAy' will never apologize or humble themselves
🙄
www.expatsba.com
Don't think anyone would have issues coming back even overstaying. I have only read of a few isolated cases but that was probably just an angry customs official which you can run into anywhere but still talking to many people that have been living here for years and years.
bro. stop repeating the same old, debunked stuff
Seems like over the years people always say it will get more difficult and it never does.
overstaying? so the dozens of people getting denied entry in the past year haven't changed your opinion? holy sh*t, you guys need to stop giving advice here.
@agua highly recommend you be careful
Overstaying in Argentina has been going on for years. No worries.
very stupid advice
No offense, and I'm not saying you are lying, but this exact same story has been appearing on expat boards since 2005 and earlier. I know because I have been overstaying off and on and reading it for 20 yesrs. Down to the exact phrasing about how "the crackdown is here" and "they are finally getting serious"
the responsible thing to do is NOT to say "don't worry" - instead how about stating the past events, giving perspective on proven entry denials (you really haven't seen the ones that are legit??? there are more than 5 confirmed), and tell people to do their due diligence and have a backup plan. some of you oldtimers are being very irresponsible and i very much disagree with the morality (and intelligence) about assuring strangers that they will be fine when they break the law (yes, repeating a tourist visa is illegal).
Why in the world would you expect to live here illegally for years is beyond me.
and why some permatourists here would continue to give shitty advice (to break the law) is beyond me, yet you and i can see they continue to spout their bullshit :/
permanent-tourists aren't the ones targeted are they? Isn't this illegals here in Argentina?
border runs and overstays are illegal. i think i've commented this to you more than once...
I don't know how the judge would react if they see you constantly breaking the laws and overstaying. Maybe it would hurt.
common sense says yes. if i was a judge i would absolutely deny someone like that, and i think a majority of people would as well
What other options are there besides rentista and retirement? Student visa??
1. don't break the law.
2. use Google, then ask specific questions.
3. use the search function here.
4.please read more and post less.
Being denied entry is not the same as being deported.
yeah but not really. it's a distinction without a difference; you're in the border, and they make you leave. it's being deported at the border.
Argentina doesn't deport Americans. They only do criminals that are "brown".
lol lol lol found the commie. this Woke sh*t doesn't work here, because Argies don't care about fake racism and victim mentalities. many USA people have posted on these forum that they got denied entry (AKA deported at the border). race-baiters are retarded
YES the USA is making it very easy to enter illegally now.
and now in 2025 the pendulum has swung the other way from 2021-2024
