Where are Argentines traveling? Spoiler: it’s not just Miami…

There’s a travel boom happening, and the numbers prove it. Between January and May, tons of Argentines flew abroad.
In May alone, Europe was the #1 destination, followed by Brazil, the U.S./Canada, Chile, and Uruguay.
Uruguay had fewer tourists, but lots of short, frequent trips, probably because it’s so close, I actually went there a while ago and… to be honest, it’s not that amazing. It’s nice for the day, sure, but super expensive for what it is. If you’ve already seen Colonia or Montevideo once, there’s not much left to do.

I did a 5-day trip to Rio and honestly, with a budget airline and some planning, I spent less than a long weekend in Bariloche. Brazil always hits the spot, warm weather, good food, beach.

Right now, a lot of Argentines are doing local trips. Patagonia, Mendoza, Bariloche, Iguazú are classics. If they can travel abroad, Uruguay, Brazil and Chile are super popular too. And if they get good deals, Europe and Miami always pop up on the list!

Bariloche is more expensive than Europe! I went and it was nuts! I thought BA was expensive! Bariloche was bonkers. Very very expensive!
Bariloche has never been cheap. For as long as I have been going there it has been expensive. But now it is at crazy levels. I wonder are lift tickets here more than the USA?

In the Travel Tourism section, there is a 2025 Ski Resort Guide with the prices of resorts in Argentina. But the general answer USA lift tickets are dramatically more expensive while Europe is less expensive.

I went skiing down in Bariloche and man was it expensive! Honestly the price of drinks and food in any ski resort is expensive but I don't remember paying as much for a beer than I did in Bariloche. Nuts!
