What’s Happening with Kioscos?

Hey everyone, have you noticed there are fewer and fewer kiosks around? According to this article I just read, a staggering 16,000 closed in the last year alone, crazy, right? It seems the economic crisis, combined with regulations, is pushing these classic spots to the brink.

They say even in small towns and neighborhoods where there used to be several, most have now disappeared. Is it because online shopping and supermarkets are squeezing them out? Or what else do you think is going on?

Anyone got a nearby example, like a kiosk that closed in your neighborhood or a story about it? Do you think kiosks have a future?

I think taxes and local regulations hit small businesses hard here. Kiosks aren’t just for snacks; they’re really convenient for quick needs, but keeping them open seems tougher than expected.

The kiosco near my place closed down recently. Back home, kioscos were always a neighborhood hub, here it feels like supermarkets and apps have taken over completely.

That is too bad. These stores seem great for the neighborhood. My last stay I rented a place and they had a kiosco right at the bottom of the building and it was very convenient. Anytime I needed anything they had it all. They sold hot dogs, wine, ice, all drinks and snacks. It was open 24 hours a day. I liked having that there.
