🇦🇷🤝UTA Salary Agreement in the AMBA: Key Details
Increase and new base salary

🚋The Unión Tranviarios Automotor (UTA) has reached a salary agreement with the transport business chambers in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), establishing a 7.7% wage increase starting June 2025.

💵The base salary for bus drivers will be $1,270,000 from May and will rise to $1,300,000 from June.
In addition to these amounts, drivers will receive per diem allowances, which will be $9,300 in May and increase to $9,700 in June according to some sources, while others mention a rise to $17,000. The difference in per diem values may be due to whether the sum is calculated daily or monthly; most media agree on $9,700 per month from June.

Agreement application and Dota’s situation
The agreement was signed by most of the sector’s business chambers, but Dota-the largest company in the industry-did not sign the agreement. However, Dota will still be required to apply the increase, as the agreement was ratified by the Labor Secretariat and is legally binding for the entire sector.

The increase will be applied proportionally to the time worked.

Strike day and review in June

Companies may choose whether or not to deduct pay for the strike day held on April 6, as the agreement allows companies to evaluate possible compensation for that day.

There will be a salary review in June: both parties have agreed to meet again to consider a possible update of wages based on inflation and sector costs.

The agreement averted the threat of a new bus strike in the AMBA, ensuring the continuity of public transport services.

The implementation of the salary increase is subject to a resolution from the Ministry of Economy, which must adjust the system’s funding so companies can afford the raise.

Salary negotiations for drivers in the rest of the country are still ongoing, with no agreement yet reached in those areas.

📣 Our firm told you that they would reach an agreement and get paid a higher salary. This will be ongoing until the elections.

I have a feeling this is going to happen a lot before the elections. Strikes or threats of strikes and settlements paying out higher wages.
