They also demonstrated against the frustrated Omnibus Law in the previous debate that generated serious incidents with federal forces and that led to beatings, gas, rubber bullets and injuries.

Down with the Bases Law against workers, no to labor reform ,” is the main slogan.

The left-wing piquetero movements will mobilize on Monday at the National Congress to demonstrate against the treatment of the Bases Law that yesterday obtained an opinion in the Chamber of Deputies and will be debated that day and on Tuesday, starting at 11 in the morning.

The bill, which will include the fiscal package, which also had the ok in committee, was ready to be debated in the chamber after long weeks of frenetic negotiations in which La Libertad Avanza left behind several items that the Executive Branch had included in the text that was modified several times to achieve consensus with the “dialogue” sectors.

With the main slogan voted by the piquetero organizations yesterday afternoon, their leaders are also going to demand that other sectors of society join in, such as the popular economy movements and the CGT.

It will be difficult for the largest labor union in the country to join the protest on April 29. The sector obtained several concessions from the ruling party in the Labor Reform chapter.

Before the parliamentary commission of the Lower House began to meet, deputy Sergio Palazzo , head of the Banking union, and his Tucumán counterpart Carlos Cisneros , presented a project to declare Banco Nación and related firms “ as companies not susceptible to privatization .”

Hours later, the ruling party agreed to eliminate Banco Nación from the list of companies that can be privatized .

Another of the key concessions obtained by the opposition from the Government is also related to the union sector. It is about labor reform and is in line with the claims of the CGT: article 98 of the Executive Branch draft was eliminated, which established penalties of 6 months to 3 years in prison for those who block companies . A methodology that is usually used by the Truck Drivers union led by Hugo and Pablo Moyano .

The decision was adopted after a request from deputy Miguel Ángel Pichetto , head of the We Make Federal Coalition bloc, with the argument that “ nothing that affects the CGT” should not be included in the project .

In the case of Banco Nación, and its six subsidiary companies such as Nación Seguros and Nación Reaseguros, the Government came to the conclusion that it would not have the votes to approve it in the chamber . Fearing that rejected articles will begin to fall, as happened in February, they chose to postpone the issue.

Mónica Sulle , National Coordinator of the MST-Teresa Vive, told this media that today starting at 10 in the morning, in the Cabildo, located at Bolívar 65, the leftist organizations will hold a press conference to explain the reasons for the concentration in front of the national parliament, as they already did in February, when they demonstrated against the Omnibus Law and which led to serious incidents when confronting federal forces.

“The call to ask deputies to reject the Base Law includes social movements, combative unions, neighborhood assemblies, left-wing political parties, human rights organizations, among others,” explained the Trotskyist leader. And she added: “We met because we do not agree with this Base Law that goes against the workers, which endorses the labor reform. President Javier Milei dismisses the march that the university students led and that we accompanied; and that now he says that he doesn't care if the deputies vote or not on the Base Law, 'I'm going to do what I want'. We must tell this President that everything has a limit. The previous bill has already been dropped and they are moving towards a law with many difficulties and with a mobilized people who say down with the Bases Law,” said the leader of the MST-Teresa Vive.

For his part, Eduardo Belliboni, the leader of the Polo Obrero announced: “On Monday we are going with everything waiting for a reaction from the CGT because here there is a labor reform against the rights of workers. "We are going to strongly ask that the deputies not vote on this bill that goes against the interests of the people and the most vulnerable."

The piqueteros and social movements will also protest against the fiscal package, which includes the reversal of the Income Tax for the fourth category; extensive and generous laundering of non-regularized capital.

As happened with the opinion of the Bases Law, the Government agreed to modify several points of the fiscal package to bring closer positions with the dialogue opposition blocs and agree on a majority opinion.

The strategy was correct, the Federal Innovation blocks, the UCR and We Make the Federal Coalition signed it with dissidents . Unión por la Patria and the leftist blocs presented their own opinions rejecting the official project.
