The value of the ticket will rise again in February and will be adjusted monthly, in line with the increase in inflation.

For trains, the fare for section 1 is $37.38 on the Roca, Belgrano Sur, Belgrano Norte and Urquiza lines; and $43.38 on the Miter, Sarmiento and San Martín lines.

This Monday, the new values for buses and trains in the AMBA, announced on December 28 and delayed by the need to update the 18,000 validating machines that are used, began to take effect.

The increases are added to those already applied to the subway rate of 37.5%, which became $110 as of January and will increase again in February to $125.

Meanwhile, the minimum bus fare amounts to $76.92, while for the 3 to 6 km section it rises to 85.69 pesos. On the other hand, those who make a trip of 6 to 12 kilometers must pay a value of $92.29 and those who travel between 12 and 27 km will pay 98.89 pesos. Finally, the highest rate, for more than 27 km, costs 105.46 pesos.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Transportation reported that the policy of subsidizing users through social attributes is maintained, channeled through the SUBE card. a>. The benefit reaches retirees and/or pensioners, domestic workers, veterans of the Malvinas War, social monotributists and beneficiaries of Universal Child Allowance (AUH) and Pregnancy Allowance (AUE), More and Better Work, unemployment insurance, training and employment insurance and Promote Equal Opportunities program. These receive a 55% discount on their trips.

As for trains, the fare for section 1 is $37.38 on the Roca, Belgrano Sur, Belgrano Norte lines y Urquiza; and $43.38 in the lines Mitre, Sarmiento and San Martín.
For section 2, the ticket costs $48.38 on the Roca, Belgrano Sur, Belgrano Norte and Urquiza lines; and $61.57 on the Miter, Sarmiento and San Martín lines. Finally, the section 3 ticket on the Roca, Belgrano Sur, Belgrano Norte and Urquiza lines costs $59.37, while on the Mitre, Sarmiento and San Martín lines the value is $76.96.

It is important to emphasize that these values correspond to trips paid for with the SUBE card. If paid in cash, the cost increases. Thus, the ticket for the Roca, Belgrano Sur and Belgrano Norte and Urquiza lines would be $115 and $150 for the Mitre, Sarmiento and San Martín lines.

The values will be readjusted again in February, due to increases in fuel and general supplies, which so far are not reflected in the ticket price or in the subsidies they receive.

For its part, the government has already announced that the rates will be updated monthly in accordance with accumulated inflation, increases that will be added to the reduction of the transportation subsidy.

In this framework, the Argentine Association of Automotive Transport Entrepreneurs (AAETA) proposed on its social networks three possible scenarios regarding the bus ticket in the AMBA, considering the current deficit, the inflationary projection and the requests for /span>UTA) salary recomposition:Automotive Tram Union (

1) Rate is adjusted according to guidelines announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure, but subsidy is frozen. The deficit skyrockets and the system is paralyzed.

2) Rate is adjusted according to guidelines announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and deficit is covered with more Subsidies (in February only 15% covers rate and 85% subsidies)

3) Subsidies are frozen and all inflation is covered by rates. In this scenario (the most complex) a minimum ticket of $1,172 is required to cover projected inflation and UTA orders.

“A very difficult scenario to resolve. All options generate a strong impact (for companies, the first, for the State, the second, and for users, the third)”, they pointed out from AAETA.
