Restaurant Menus with Prices for Buenos Aires

Wow 25k for a burger and fries?? Steep but they have good burgers. Damn $18 bucks is more than the US at most places. How you finding the rest of pricing?
So far only thing I'm finding noticeably cheaper are Uber rides. That and maybe steak at the super market. I thought chicken too, but after I cooked it it was mostly bones lol. So price pound or kg it looked like a good deal on the outside but considering there was little meat not so.

Yes you have to really see apples to apples. Sometimes the chicken is all bones like you came across. Prices have really came up for almost everything. You are correct taxis and Ubers are still good value compared to the US but that probably will go up too after the 45 day period for gas halt increases ends.

Just saw this on X. Yikes $20 for a burger and fries and coke in Buenos Aires. That is more than what I will pay in the US.

Dean and Denny.

26,000 pesos at Dean & Denny's. That just goes to show you how crazy pricing is. No one can try to argue value now.

Be careful as some places if they can't sell I'm not entirely sure that they will throw it out the night before. Margins are squeezed so I notice the same thing now FuturoBA. Stuff isn't as fresh as it was before.
This is a big issue now. I went to a bakery and bought some stuff and I ate it when I left the store and had to come back and ask for a refund. It was all stale. At first they didn't want to but I asked her to feel it. This is a sign that businesses are really struggling. Many bakeries have closed down around the city.

So true. I went to a burger place recently and although the burger was good the fries were stale.
Things like burgers might turn over more. I think many places they aren't selling as much and just keeping it and giving old stuff to people. I noticed a real shift in quality of some food. Probably using cheaper ingredients.

We rarely go out these days, obviously having a baby slowed us down a bit but the rising prices are making us cut expenses. My other half works in pesos and she earns a fraction of what she did before as companies she freelances for don't have the money to continue paying what they previously were(let alone raising prices with "inflation") and some halving what they want compared to a year or two ago. That and the rising price in dollars of everything, including our rent which has gone up 75% in 18 months(in dollars) it leaves me wondering where we will get to in another year odd.

Congrats on the baby! I'm pregnant now so going to be where you are in a few months.

Our friends with kids ALL have cut back. Wait @El Tigre Verón so your wife makes less than she was making before? I thought the salaries were going up. They aren't even raising the salaries with the reduced inflation?

This is terrible to hear and what I worry about.

Unfortunately I am seeing this. Bad enough that some companies aren't paying enough but now places are downsizing. Terrible timing.

Welcome to Milei's Argentina. Not much fun is it?

Look at the people that voted for him usually end up having to leave Argentina because they couldn't make it here. This lady is cleaning bathrooms in Germany which is better than staying in Argentina.

That is how stupid these voters are of Milei. Listen how they are. They can't live in an Argentina that he created problems. So their only solution is to flee Argentina and let all the Argentines deal with the troubles created.

Know many people in this situation. A few of our friends lost jobs as their companies completely shut down as it doesn't make sense having a company in Argentina anymore.

Some working freelance work have said work has been slow and prices down as they are competing with more and more that are unemployed.

Rental prices keep going up faster than inflation.

Tuition prices skyrocketed up past inflation.

Utility bills all up past inflation

Healthcare bills up past inflation.

Transportation up past inflation.

We saw the writing on the wall and left for Spain. This is more or less what I figured would happen under Milei.

This is such a good video because it is reality. They voted for Milei, can't afford Argentina and will leave vs. deal with the carnage.

Besides going out to eat what can you cut down on?

My friends in BA are all complaining. But the only thing they can cut back on are dining out really. They said everything is going up too quickly.

They are already stop paying their monthly condo fees. Was just curious what else you can cut back on?

There's a limit on how much you can cut back. But dining out, coffee, drinks, name brand items etc add up. With the latter I saw Barilla brand pasta for over 8k where as the cheaper end is < 3k. Promotions help and paying in cash too.

Dining is probably the big one though. 26k for burgers and fries or 6.5k per kg of chicken to cook at home equals 4kg for the the same price and lasts a week.

Yes eating at restaurants now is a no no for most of us.
