Buenos Aires Province: With 19,253 property deeds completed last December, the total for all of 2025 became the highest since 2005, reaching nearly 150,000 property transactions.
During the month of December, 19,253 real estate transactions were recorded in Buenos Aires Province, according to the monthly survey conducted by the Buenos Aires Province Association of Notaries. This figure represented a slight year-over-year decline of 1% compared to December 2024, when 19,513 transactions were recorded.
In month-over-month terms, however, a 54% increase was observed compared to November, reflecting the market’s usual seasonal pattern, as December typically concentrates the highest volume of property deed transactions of the year.
On an annual basis, 2025 closed with a total of 147,393 property transactions, representing a 29% increase compared to 2024, when 114,018 transactions were recorded. As a result, 2025 ranked as the year with the highest number of property deeds since 2005.
Regarding mortgages, December ended with 2,161 mortgage deeds, representing a 46% increase compared to November and a 5% year-over-year increase versus December 2024.
Throughout all of 2025, a total of 23,395 mortgages were recorded. This figure showed a significant increase compared to 2024 and positioned the year as one of the most active for mortgage lending in the past two decades, in line with the rebound observed in property transactions.
The President of the Buenos Aires Province Association of Notaries, Guillermo Longhi, analyzed the year-end data:
“The 2025 figures show a market that has recovered both volume and momentum. Beyond monthly fluctuations, the annual results reflect sustained growth that once again places the province at high levels of activity,” he noted.
He also highlighted the role of mortgage credit:
“The increase in the number of mortgages confirms the importance of financing in sustaining this process. The consolidation of mortgage credit is key to expanding access to homeownership and ensuring continued growth in the sector,” Longhi concluded.
