It's a mistake to look down upon or underestimate someone because of their previous history, especially when that person is now in a position to have significant impact in your life and/or the lives of people you care about. Their history that you down down upon only makes their accomplishments even more inspirational. Another gem for the never-ending list of corruption in this country… This time the star is Emerenciano Ayala, a well-known piquetero, who ended up in jail thanks to his own security camera, yeah, the one he installed at home "for safety" that ended up filming him casually counting stacks of cash like it was no big deal. The wild part? The money was being delivered in backpacks and bags, and he even had his own kids help him move it around the house. All of it caught on camera.

The most outrageous part is that this happened in Resistencia, Chaco, the poorest city in Argentina according to INDEC. So while most people there are struggling to get by, this guy was literally stuffing his pockets from the comfort of his living room.
This went down in 2023, once again the result of past administrations leaving behind a trail of disasters. Just another theft from the people, but what’s truly chilling is how shamelessly they do it, like they don’t even care about hiding it anymore. And worst of all: dragging kids into it. What a mess.

Finally, after so much debate and back and forth, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was convicted in the Vialidad case, a huge corruption scandal where she favored her friends with fraudulent public works contracts. Many of the projects were left unfinished, overpriced, or simply never done. It was a major state robbery.

She was sentenced to 6 years in prison and banned for life from holding public office. I don’t think she’ll actually go to jail, that would be a dream for Argentinians; most believe she’ll probably get house arrest instead.

The most important thing is that she can no longer hold any public office, and for many, that’s already a victory. Interestingly, she seemed very calm when hearing the sentence, as if she was prepared and already had a plan for what’s next.

My guess Crisitina see inside of jail same time Milei does. In other word neither of them ever go to jail but both have house arrest. Her apartment mansion. She will live like Queen. So no problem for her. Milei also will get arrested some day for all his crimes and try steal money with Libra. Same thing both criminals.

I agree Avocado that there is not much distinction between stealing $50 million or $100 million, but the Kirchener's own accountant thinks they stole closer to $10 billion. That is an entirely different league, in the same vein as Chavez and the most famous African dictators. True kleptocrats.
