I've been extremely busy the past week working and traveling in Argentina and Brazil. Fortunately 99% of this forum is polite people that willingly share information. I created this forum because the old forum had too much moderating and the owner, Igor was deleting posts that he disagreed with. I don't want to have to do that.

I am disappointed to see some threads where members are arguing with one another about senseless things. I am getting a lot of complaints about certain forum members that create problems and constantly call names to others. This was not what this forum was...

I think Milei is going to win, because among the options available, people tend to choose the ‘lesser evil.’ Even with sensitive issues, like the bribery cases in the disability sector, many will still vote for his party since the opposition is seen as worse. In the end, it’s the typical dynamic of Argentine politics. We’ll see clearly on Monday.

I think, like Guillermo Francos said in an interview today, Libertad Avanza got a bit overconfident. They need to rethink their approach because even if the macroeconomy has improved a lot, people on the ground aren’t feeling it. The everyday folks who get up early to work and barely make it to the 20th of the month can’t see past their own finances, they’re just trying to cope with rising bills, transport costs, and everything else.

I’ve always supported Milei, but I think they need to broaden their focus. He said yesterday that after admitting the defeat, they’re going to fix their mistakes to try to turn things around in October. The bribery scandals in the disability sector definitely played a big role in these elections.

What cracks me up though is Cristina taking credit for the victory, celebrating on the balcony, doesn’t she realize she’s actually detained for corruption? 😂 Let’s hope things improve before October.

Forget about him winning in October. People don’t vote for ideology, they vote with their wallets. Right now, most households are struggling to make ends meet, bills are piling up, and the economy is hitting them hard. No amount of promises or “fixing mistakes” is going to change the fact that everyday people are barely surviving. Milei’s message just isn’t connecting with the reality of the majority.

I get your point, but Milei and his team actually recognized their mistakes, which is more than what the Peronists usually do. They know that for October they need to show people that it’s not just about macroeconomics, the everyday struggles matter too. Admitting the defeat and learning from it is a step in the right direction, and it shows they’re trying to connect with what people are really facing.

If he had fought on provincial issues like lack of security , lack of investment and jobs for the boys, he could have had a different result.

Clearly he is not a politician with a politicians brain.

He needs to tone down his agressiveness and tell people the good things they are doing.

Its going to be a tough time between now and the mid terms .

Lowering inflation is good ( but its still above 30% per year) but he must offer other things to keep the people happy.

He should have gotten rid of his sister a long time ago. No one I know in BA has a good opinion of her. Others that I trust in Buenos Aires tell me flat out she is a crook. I understand loyalty but it sounds like Milei is tying himself to an anchor by sticking with his sister.

It seems like everything is falling apart. Milei seems like he has made a lot of bad decisions. It seems like it takes his entire team to force him to make the right decisions. What started out so good for him is ending so poorly. Talk about a 180 with him.
