What a week for Javier Milei! Between the economy shrinking, interest rates skyrocketing, and the opposition breathing down his neck, the president seems to be in full “anarcho-capitalist, nothing-can-stop-me” mode. 😅
He’s already blaming the political “establishment” as usual, but honestly, the Buenos Aires provincial elections are shaping up to be a big test for what’s coming in October. Will his radical austerity win over voters, or is he digging his own hole?

I think Milei always plays the confrontation card. If he wins in Buenos Aires, it’s a huge blow to the K’s, but if he loses… yikes, it’s going to get ugly.

It feels like Milei is gambling everything on this austerity plan. On one hand, cutting back could show investors he’s serious about fixing Argentina’s finances, but on the other hand, everyday people are the ones taking the hit right now. If he doesn’t find a way to balance economic discipline with some kind of relief for the public, voters might turn on him fast. The provincial elections will probably show whether people still have patience for his experiment or if they’ve had enough.

I won't mention any names but some of the people on this board have told me some stories about her. Sounds like corruption continues on with the Milei's. Most agree she is dirty. I know enough people that tell me stories. My neighbor works with the government. She doesn't have a good reputation. Let's see how the October mid term elections turn out but the big money grab before with Libra was probably her idea. Her little brother is a bit naive.

Wasn't she a tarot card reader before and a baker? What does she know about politics? It sounds like her lack of experience is showing now. I know corruption in Argentina will never disappear but seems like one thing after another.

It seems the scandal has really impacted people. I just hope everything gets clarified, and we’ll see how the elections on 09/07 turn out, the polls will speak. According to surveys, this has upset a lot of people.

The entire thing is very sad to see. Such high hopes for President Milei but after hearing some stories first hand from people that I would trust and that are clearly in the know in Buenos Aires business community I would say Karina is as dirty as all the rest of the politicians in Argentina's history. I guess subjective comments like worse than Cristina is exaggerating. She was bad but when someone is clearly corrupt like Karina is and you are stealing then it is all the same.

Interesting that the accuser was the one forced out, while those he pointed fingers at remain untouched. If the Libra/ crypto scandal is any precedent, this will get buried quickly. Still, the cracks in government are obvious—wild accusations flying everywhere, even the interior minister going after the vice president.

And it feels like this isn’t the end of it. Could it be that Karina has finally run out of rope? It's clear the Milei's are trying to line their pockets as fast as they can before they are forced out.

Sure there are lobbying groups in the USA. It's legal there. All of these politicians are dirty. Trump and Milei have a lot of things in common. They are both thugs and thieves.
