Immigration Wasn’t an Issue in Argentina. Until It Became One - NYT

What went in in Minnesota was an eye opener. It is scary to see the Governor and everyone in on it. It's all one big grift. I got excited when Elon Musk was going to expose it all but the forces of corruption are too powerful and he had to back off.

This kind of scam is happening in each state. Look at California.

I can't imagine what would happen if Harris and Waltz won. We would be in some serious problems.
My sister and her husband live in Santa Barbara, CA and they say the fraud in California is much much worse. They had a program for billions to fight homeless and they can't find the money.

I was against Biden/Harris flying in illegals by the plane fulls.
Only partially true.

What the Biden‑Harris administration actually did

  • The Biden administration had a humanitarian parole program that allowed up to 30,000 people per month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to apply online, secure a financial sponsor, and then fly themselves on commercial flights to designated U.S. airports.
  • These entrants are vetted to some degree (background checks, biometrics, etc.), and they are not “random” or “secret” flights; the program is publicly described in DHS and federal‑register materials.

Where the comment is misleading

  • The phrase “flying in illegals by the plane full” suggests:
    • The government itself is chartering planes and dumping large numbers of “illegal” migrants anywhere in the country, which is not accurate.
    • That these people are uniformly “illegal”: in fact, many are admitted under lawful parole authority (temporary legal status), though they may still be noncitizens facing immigration proceedings.
  • The policy is not new: U.S. agencies have for years moved migrants around by air, including under prior administrations, and sometimes even paid for or helped arrange transport.

Bottom‑line fact‑check

  • True: The Biden‑Harris administration expanded a program that brings tens of thousands of migrants from four countries into the U.S. via commercial flights, with some government facilitation.
  • False or misleading: The implication that “illegals” are being secretly or illegally flown in by the plane‑load, with no rules or vetting, does not match how the program actually works.

Totally wrong. They were bringing in people by the bus loads daily. I've seen videos from friends. I've been on flights where I saw it and the flight attendants just commented it was daily and they can't do anything about it.

The USA has no business in flying in all of these people when they can't even balance its own budget. I can't believe anyone even on the Left would try to justify these tactics. It's the reason why Harris lost.

Jerry,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news for you but I saw it over and over throughout the year. You don't really trust the government do you?

I live in San Diego and I do a lot of business in Mexico so I'd cross the border back and forth. It's true they were bussing in daily massive amounts of migrants. I fly out of San Diego airport all the time for work and it was chock full of people Biden was bussing over and then they were flying them all over to the sanctuary cities. Many times on red eye flights so people didn't post about it but I flew to Ohare plenty of times on the red eye flights and it was just full of illegal migrants.

Some even with barely any shoes. On one flight with my wife she was scared that our stuff would get stolen. And in fact, I was missing my AirPods and we told the flight attendant and "she said oh boy not again". We ended up finding it but she said that there were issues many flights with stuff missing.

I don't know how anyone can defend bringing all of these illegal migrants into the USA when we can't even take care of our own citizens.

Of course we can agree to disagree but I saw it first hand. I also went to NYC several times and it was a mess with them bringing in tons there too and putting them up in 4 star hotels. Just chaos and why Biden had to lose.

Exactly what I saw too. And I'm from NYT. It was a disaster zone there. Finally starting to clean it up.

Well not sure how much I believe that. He is saying ICE agents will take over TSA which might not be a bad idea. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Oh stupid me. I should've realized that half-a-dozen examples of anecdotal evidence outweighs tons of factual research. My bad!

You sound like you didn't live in the US during that entire fiasco. It's ok. The left will never agree with the "right".

I doubt either side will ever agree on this. It's why the US is so divided. Half the people thought it was perfectly fine and the other half know it was wrong.

The two sides will never agree on this. That's why I think threads like this being very political are no good for a website.

Oh, you caught me. I actually spent those years living in a remote biodome on Mars, where the Wi-Fi only picked up interpretive dance performances and sourdough recipes. It’s a bit of a shock to find out that "living in the US" is the prerequisite for understanding that things were... colorful.

But you're right—it’s a total scientific impossibility for the "Left" and the "Right" to agree. I think it’s actually written into the laws of physics now, right next to gravity. If a conservative and a liberal ever accidentally agreed that the sky was blue, the entire space-time continuum would probably just fold in on itself.

It must be so much simpler to view the world as two teams wearing different colored jerseys, forever locked in a stadium where the scoreboard is broken and everyone’s shouting at the referee.

What makes this discussion remotely interesting on this forum is that it comes from people who are mostly immigrants who have gone through loops to get their immigration status in accordance with the law or know that if you cross a border without authorization you are taking the law in your own hands. That gives nuance instead of just being pro vs anti or open borders vs. deport them all. Before widespread traveling and living abroad, I thought that was the binary discussion and so I was pro open borders and thought saying "there are no illegals on stolen land" was smart and nuanced thought.

My brother is in the agricultural sector in Florida. He owns a few companies. 2 years ago when Florida tried to come hard down on it, many fled Florida. They didn't have enough workers to pick the produce. Fruit and vegetables were literally rotting on the vines. Americans weren't cut out for this stuff. They quickly changed their tune.

Construction sites in Florida also went dead. There was no one to build. It was a mistake to go so hard on the policy. Certainly productive members of society shouldn't be terrorized. They are contributing to the US. I was against Biden/Harris flying in illegals by the plane fulls. That was just wrong.
I just think we have to acknowledge that many Americans don't want many of the jobs out there. If we got rid of all the illegal migrants productivity would struggle. In many of the meat packing plants in the Midwest it's shock full of migrants from other countries. Americans don't want these jobs.

I was surprised to visit my cousin in Iowa and saw so many Latinos around. I asked him where they were coming from and he said it was to work in the packing plants. They can't get anyone else.
Don't be so hard on yourself, your opinions are valued
I actually like some of your posts too Jerry but it is clear you are far to the left and I just think many expats moved out of the USA because they either can't afford the US on their pensions or SS or they were fed up with politics. I don't know any of my Liberal friends that thought bringing in all the migrants was a good idea. Are you saying you agreed with that policy by Biden/Harris? Was that a good idea to you?

See a doctor and get it fixed Jerry.

C'mon Wally, he has the INTERNET. What have we got besides some real world experiences like living in border states and sanctuary cities through the Biden years, flying around the country in sanctuary planes, going through the US immigration process as the only person in your group that spoke a word of English (despite that being a hardcore requirement), that kind of thing. So you know, let's not get ahead of ourselves here 🙂

This is what I don't understand Craig. I have friends like this too that never leave their house. They don't see it and think everything is made up. I travel heavily and saw it too. For work had to go through several sanctuary cities and it was bad. Like really bad.

Some people I think really have TDS and it's unfortunate that take politics aside there is no scenario where we can afford flying in hundreds of thousands of people to the USA on taxpayer money, putting them up in housing, feeding them, giving them health benefits. We have a lot of people that need to be taken care of. I just don't understand the argument. It is actually helpful to see it on the forum because I didn't think anyone would admit that these things were the solution.

I have been on several of these flights where they transported people to these sanctuary cities. I did feel bad for them but it was not the solution to just open up your borders to the entire world.

Jerry a lot of your content just looks like it is from ChatGPT. I'm not even sure if you're a really an author? No disrespect meant.

Fair question. But I’ve been a working writer for years, and most of what I’ve written you’ll never see my name on. That’s what ghostwriting is.

AI is a tool. Same as Google was. Same as Grammarly. It doesn’t replace lived experience, and it doesn’t replace storytelling.

If my content feels generic, I’ll own that. But I’m very real.

Jerry I don't see the point of leaving the USA due to a misguided hatred of Trump only to spend your new life obsessively hating on Trump and letting him control your thoughts.

If Trump is the great Satan you think he is then congrats, you escaped the devils fascists claws, now learn tango or something. I hope you can find the help you need to stop thinking about Trump so you can find true everlasting peace
