How much is typical to pay a maid or housekeeper in Buenos Aires?

@Dirk , many of the people who do this work dont want a salary or the be legal as they in mnay cases have some sort of social plan.

What area do you live in? And how many hours would you be looking at ?
Hi John. I would probably maybe live in Palermo or Belgrano. How much would a full time maid be if I have a live in and also just come everyday? It seems like not many have full time maids now. Many say they pay by the hour. Any salaried maid positions available? Someone told me they are charging like 800,000 pesos for a month plus some transportation costs or something. I didn't understand that part.

Dirk , let me ask about . Not too sure about salaries for a full time maid , to be honest.
Given that most of the people who do this work come from the province it is quite normal to pay part of their travelling expemses.
We have our girl twice a week and she does between 3 and 5 hours each day she comes - she only lives about 4 miles away but we pay her bus fares in addition to the hourly rate .
Of course everything can be negotiated and you can pay a salary that includes traveling expenses.

Many people don't have full time maids these days. We did for a while when our kids were very young. Now many just have a girl come a few hours a week. Most are traveling outside of BA. Ours comes from Quilmes.

I think that reasonable maids in CABA these days are probably around 800,000 to 900,000 per month.

I offered a lady to come on salary when I lived in BA and she didn't want to go in white. I didn't know why but I was told safer to do that but she just wanted to work in black. It was a while back but I was paying 700k a month back then.
