If anything he needs Trump (or likely Bessent's) help even more. Things aren't going so hot for Milei so maybe he thinks by going he can cozy up with Trump even more. But Trump has his own problems. He already likes Milei. I agree with you @Larry that going now when things are already so bad isn't good timing. I would argue that his problems started getting worse when the war started and it is NOT popular here.

By giving more ammunition to critics seems like a bad decision.

Milei already has Trump's support. He has to weigh the downsides of going to Israel but honestly not sure he cares. I don't think he is faking his love for Israel. Seems like he is really dedicated to them. Not sure how smart that is to tell you the truth.

Short term worse off. Middle to longer term if they keep pumping out the oil better. But if Milei doesn't survive not sure the RIGI investments will really come through.
