Dealing with money here is a pain in the ass! WU works ok but not for big amounts or if you need US dollars. I just used @BuySellBA and they helped me wire in money from the USA. Very cheap and easy. I just wired to a US account and picked up my money the next day downtown. Very reasonable fees.

Cuevas work actually very good here if you have a trusted one. Most of the time I just need money to pay bills but cuevas are good when you have to have large amounts. When I was furnishing my place I had to send down large amounts.

Yes I needed to send down cash to pay for furniture. There are big cash discounts to pay in cash. Seems like everyone still wants cash. I guess that is par for the course here after paying for my apartment in cash, paying the realtors in cash, paying the lawyer in cash. Strange country.

Cash will always be king here. Just find a dependable cueva that has been around a long time. You still have to be careful. I know someone that was working with the same person for 10+ years and they just exit scammed. Better to use a company that has a physical office and in the space for a long time. @BuySellBA has great contacts. They have been around in Buenos Aires since 2002.
