It is crazy that a post like this even would need to be made. I posted on the old forum for 12 years under a different user name. I found out about that site from Mike who always told me he posted there. I have been a client of his since 2005. Anyone that knows Mike or worked with him will tell you he is the most patient guy you could ever meet. I don't know anyone that loves Argentina more than him.
The fact that he created this forum was from reaching a certain threshold of patience. Since he left the old forum it is totally dead. Many of the old members have probably died, moved out of Argentina or just don't post anymore since it is so dead. I am mostly a lurker on this site. I probably should participate more and plan to once I retire and move down to Buenos Aires in the next 4 years.
The IRS is not to be messed with. Forget about worrying about AFIP or Argentina. I would think that is the least of this guy's worries. Everyone in Argentina is probably in the black a little. But it's not a stretch for the IRS to figure out who this guy is. I doubt there are too many Americans that purchased properties in Mendoza. My friend had a property for sale and it took her 5 years to sell it. Seriously doubt there are many transactions there.
Avocado I agree with the others just let this slide. Has
@StatusNomadicus apologized? I would give him the opportunity to just send you a message and apologize and move on. I am not sure if you presented him with that option but it would be good for everyone involved. I can't imagine a scenario where an American gets deported from Argentina and the press picking up on it and not creating serious problems not only for this person but their entire family.
I read where
@StatusNomadicus served in the military and you should seriously consider dropping this before it gets out of control.
@StatusNomadicus just apologize and put this to bed.
