After Iran's terrorist attack on Israel, the Argentine Government activated a security protocol that involved the entire national Cabinet, with the aim of strengthening prevention systems in the country, mainly in embassies and vulnerable areas.

President Javier Milei himself rushed back from his international tour to lead at the Casa Rosada the first meeting of the Crisis Committee that was created in response to the conflict in the Middle East, which generated a state of tension in the world with still uncertain outcomes.

As detailed by Infobae , at that meeting the officials analyzed a report prepared by the Intelligence, Security, Defense, Foreign Ministry, Interior and Strategy liaisons , in which they warned about the situation in the so-called Triple Border, on the border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

As this media learned, last Saturday, when the conflict between Israel and Iran broke out, after the Islamic Republic surprisingly bombed Jerusalem and its surroundings, the National Directorate of Migration, headed by Sebastián Pablo Seoane , ordered that controls be reinforced. at all border crossings.

Likewise, the agency dependent on the Ministry of the Interior sent a statement to its employees, in which they highlighted the importance in this context of paying special attention to international alerts that may arise and to the profile of people entering Argentine territory .

In parallel, work began in coordination with other areas of the Government and this Monday the immigration inspectors who serve at the Ezeiza International Airport participated in the first technical training by agents of the Airport Security Police (PSA). .

During that day, the security personnel explained to the immigration personnel some tools for the identification and control of risk passengers, the falsification or adulteration of travel documents and other complex crimes.

In addition to Seoane, the exercise was supervised by the General Director of the Migration Movement, Juan Capella ; the National Director of Training and Training of the Police and Security Forces personnel of the Ministry of Security, José Luis Parisi ; the National Deputy Director of the PSA, Miguel Ángel Martino , and the Rector of the Higher Institute of said force, Pablo Lázaro .

In the coming days, this force will continue with the courses in the cities of Rosario, Córdoba and Mendoza, while the National Gendarmerie will train the inspectors who work in Tucumán, Salta, Jujuy, Posadas and Iguazú.

However, the Government recently lowered the state of alert in the country from “high”, which was declared over the weekend, to “moderate” in much of the territory, although this condition will remain for the next 48 hours, when the new update of the status will be made.

The only places that remain under maximum alarm and with all precautionary measures activated are the northern border and diplomatic headquarters , as determined by the Ministry of Security, led by Patricia Bullrich and which is in charge of deciding the steps to follow.

According to what official sources told Infobae , at the moment it is not planned that the Crisis Committees will meet again, which last Sunday learned of the events in the Middle East through a presentation by the Israeli ambassador in Argentina. Eyal Sela .

However, this Tuesday the usual Cabinet meeting will be held at the Casa Rosada, in which all the ministers will participate, except for Foreign Affairs, Diana Mondino, and Defense, Luis Petri , who are traveling.

In this regard, officials close to Milei anticipated that, although it will not be the only issue to be discussed, in that meeting "the issue will be discussed" and the measures to be taken to intensify national security in this climate of international uncertainty.

In fact, within the framework of his visit to Brazil, Mondino spoke with his local counterpart, Mauro Luiz Iecker Vieira , and both agreed to continue negotiations to regulate border crossings in a coordinated manner and thus optimize their operation.

Some friends who live in Foz do Iguacu in Brazil have had quite a few problems this month when they crossed the border into Argentina.

Most of them are in their fifties and sixties with long-standing residency in Brazil.

The problem it seems, is that they have Arab surnames as they are of Lebanese descent.

They are invited for a secondary interview and are delayed for between 3 and 3 hours.

All of these guys have been coming to Argentina to have dinner for years - the average time in the country 4/5 hours.

There would seem to be orders from Buenos Aires to piss these people off.

The government is crazy - terrorists don't nip across the border for dinner. They are too busy planning their evil escapades.
