Driving and deliveries: Plan B for Argentina’s professionals and pensioners (Uber, Didi and Rappi)

It seems like more and more people I know are driving Uber on the side to get by. Or doing Rappi. This is a good article. Interesting as I know a few locals that had smaller apartments and lived off the rental income from Airbnb but they had to sell them as tourism has fallen and the bills added up now that expenses are going up.

More and more of the economy will turn into these type of jobs. Uber's CEO just announced they are going to come to Argentina via UberEats. Lots of traditional jobs will convert over to these types of independent jobs.

It will be interesting to see how Uber Eats does. Rappi is already very popular but they will probably cross market it with popular Uber. The only thing that will probably happen is many of these same people signed up for Rappi and PedidosYa will just sign up for UberEats too. Probably will just cause all the rates to go lower for the delivery drivers.
