Medical Clinic recommendation to get STD (sexually transmitted disease) and STI (sexually transmitted infection) blood testing?

My grandpa is in a nursing home in Miami and it's wild. I joke he has more fun than me. They have tons of activities that are awesome. He is getting laid more there than ever in his life. Yes no fear of pregnancy.

But I've found that growing up condom use was more common but now all females aren't afraid of getting pregnant because none of them want kids and all on the pill. My trips to BA none of the females care about using protection. It's wild! Hence probably why everyone needs STD test recommendations!
Yes I noticed the same thing. Girls back home in the US seem to be more careful. In BA my first trip I was also hooking up and going bareback. No one seems to care. Maybe they think Americans are less promiscuous? I mostly had a girlfriend here so I didn't have to worry about that after I started dating her. In the US most of my girlfriends before we went unprotected we both did tests. Here no one seems to care too much. Not sure if this is an Argentina thing or a Latin America thing.

Gross.

My friend just got pregnant here in a hookup a few weeks ago. Poor guy. She is keeping it. That is going to end up being one expensive hook up. At least his parents are filthy rich.

This is news to me for sure.

Actually both 😀 hehe
This is my experience here also. I was surprised coming here, Brazil and Colombia. Maybe this is a South America thing and not just Argentina. But a few girls that I dated here they didn't make me put on a condom. Whether that is a good decision or not is probably another discussion. You have to figure if they are doing this with me they are with everyone so STD's are a risk. But probably why so many are asking where to get tested for STD's.

Back home there is a clinic I can go and they test free. I try to be careful but it is tough to resist in the heat of the moment!

It's not zero but guys generally are at lower risk of getting an STI from a girl than a girl getting an STI from a guy due to anatomical differences.

Yup..and testing is not a cure anyways...so it's not smart risking it.

I don't think this is true..maybe a doctor should clarify.
Yes this is true. I just looked it up online and here is what it says:

Medical data shows that biological and anatomical differences often make it easier for many STIs to be transmitted from a man to a woman than the reverse during vaginal sex. But it looks like a lot of the STD's you'd worry about are the same risk. So better wrap up!

Why women are often at higher risk

  1. Larger exposed surface area
    • The vaginal and cervical lining provides a larger mucosal surface where viruses and bacteria can enter the body.
    • The penis has less mucosal exposure, especially if circumcised.
  2. Microtears
    • Vaginal tissue can develop tiny tears during intercourse, especially without lubrication.
    • These tears make it easier for pathogens to enter the bloodstream.
  3. Longer exposure time
    • Semen can remain in the vaginal canal for hours, increasing exposure.
    • In contrast, vaginal fluids typically do not stay on the penis as long.

Important exceptions

  • Herpes (HSV): Can transmit easily in either direction.
  • HPV: Very common and spreads readily both ways.
  • Syphilis: Transmission depends on contact with sores, not just anatomy.
  • Anal sex: The receptive partner (regardless of gender) has the higher risk.

It sure doesn't seem like many females here are too worried. I had the same experience with the others when I came. I think maybe Argentines think Americans are safer. I'm not sure but I went on a Tinder date and 2nd date we had sex and she didn't expect me to use a condom. We didn't have one but thank god for Rappi!
