They were trying to lower it to 13 which got some pushback but I think they are trying to set it now to 14 years old. I'm all for lowering it. 13 may be too young but I'm all for 14.

If you can't do the time don't do the crime. Too much crime by minors that have no consequences. I don't think under the law minors under 16 can be criminally prosecuted. Here gangs exploit the young because they know they can't be prosecuted so lowering the age will remove that shield.

My friend was robbed by a 14 year old and she was shocked that the kid got no punishment. They can't go through a criminal trial and can't receive a sentence. They just get handed over to family court which has let them free.
