The increase in sales was consolidated with 4,135 events during August in the city, already being the 3rd consecutive year of year-on-year sales improvements, surely driven by the attractive sales values that are still available.
As reported by the College of Notaries of the City of Buenos Aires, the total number of real estate purchase and sale deeds registered an increase of 32.7% in the eighth month of 2023 compared to the level of a year before, adding 4,135 records, while the total amount of transactions carried out grew by 218.9%, with $132,943 million.Compared to July 2023, acts increased by 23.2% (July 3,357 deeds). The average amount of the acts was $32,150,886, having grown by 140.4% in one year in pesos.
This being already the third consecutive year of interannual growth in quantities and the August figure having been above the values of the years 2012-2013-2014 and 2015 (previous stocks); There is no doubt that the sharp decline in property values would continue to drive demand in the City.
In August, there were 178 deeds formalized with a mortgage. Therefore, the increase in that sense is 40.2% compared to the same month last year. In the accumulated 8 months, the growth is 5.1% (961 in total).
The president of the Colegio Escribanos Jorge De Bártolo stated: “It may be a striking fact, but - in the month of most volatility - it was the best record of the year with 4,135 operations, which means an increase of 32% year-on-year and 23% compared to to July. Despite these uncertainties, all months have been positive compared to the same periods in 2022 and there are a cumulative total of 23,400 operations, compared to 20,000 last year. In any case, we have to work multisectorally so that whoever governs takes stability and a policy of access to housing as their banner: the Argentine highly values the family roof.”
