Buenos Aires in Winter – Worth it or better to wait for spring?

I’ve seen a lot of people arriving lately, and I’m curious what the long-timers think:
Is Buenos Aires enjoyable in winter, or is it better to come when it’s warmer?
I know winters here aren’t extreme, but between the wind, chilly apartments, and shorter days, I’m not sure how fun it really is. On the flip side, there are fewer tourists and some things seem cheaper. What’s been your experience? Would you recommend coming during winter or not?

I love it! I prefer winter in Buenos Aires to winter in Canada without a doubt. Of course, the apartments are cold, so if you're planning to come now, bring slippers and blankets, but walking around is really pleasant, you don't melt like you do in January. And the cafés are very lively.

I was surprised how cold the apartments get. Didn’t expect that. But outside, the weather is fine for walking tours and sightseeing. If you're into parks and rooftop bars, though, maybe spring is a better time.

I use winter for cultural stuff, museums, theater, films. It’s a different vibe from summer, but still lots to do. And prices aren't as crazy as during peak tourist season.

I would just wait for the spring. I'm not a big fan of BA in the winter. It can get very dead outside at many places. Argentines don't like the cold plus tourism has fallen off a cliff. Many places that are always dead are a ghost town now.

Wait. With the cold weather and tourism down it can be boring. Take a look at how dead the restaurants are now.

I went out a few nights with @earlyretirement and @Johnny and it was crazy to see some places totally empty. One place we went, Mike told me it was usually hopping and it was totally empty. They even asked if we could leave early so they could leave as it was our table and only one other.

It is so slow. People make excuses it is the cold. No! It is because it is so expensive now. Tourism has fallen off a cliff in BA.

Winter’s not too harsh here, you can still enjoy parks, museums, and cafés! If you want warm weather and outdoor stuff, spring is better. But honestly, BA is fun any time!
