Starting Monday, Argentina’s National Directorate of Migration (DNM) will begin processing naturalization applications directly, thanks to a new decree (366/25). This means you no longer have to go through the courts, the entire process can now be started digitally through Migraciones’ website.

To qualify, you need to:

  • Be over 18
  • Have lived in Argentina continuously for 2 years as a temporary or permanent resident
  • Provide some basic documentation: DNI, criminal record certificate, proof of occupation/income, and your CUIT/CUIL number.
You can start the process through the RaDEX system on Migraciones’ website. They might ask for extra documents depending on your case.

This is a huge change that could make getting citizenship much faster and more accessible for many foreigners living here.

Wow, this is great news! 😄 As an expat, it’s so much easier now that we don’t have to go through the courts, starting the whole citizenship process online is a total game-changer. Two years of residency feels much more manageable knowing I can do everything digitally, and having all the info upfront makes the process way simpler and more convenient.

Fabulous. Somethings tells me it won't be so easy. Nothing is too easy in Argentina so probably will be lots of red tape. I will believe it when I see it.
