Hey everyone!

I’m currently in Argentina and I’m absolutely loving alfajores, I had no idea there were so many different kinds! From the classic ones with dulce de leche and chocolate to more unique versions with fruit or cream, I feel like I’m just scratching the surface.

I wanted to ask: what are your favorite alfajor brands or must-try varieties while I’m here? So far I’ve tried Havanna and Cachafaz, but I know there are tons more. Would love recommendations from locals or other travelers who’ve been on the alfajor hunt too!

Thanks!

If you want to try something different, Jorgito and Fantoche are budget-friendly and everywhere. Not fancy, but they have that old-school Argentine flavor. Also, keep an eye out for seasonal or limited editions from brands like Milka or Bon o Bon.

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of dulce de leche (I know, I know 😅), so the traditional alfajores don’t really do it for me. But I LOVE the Oreo, Bon o Bon, and Milka ones! They’re more chocolate-forward, and some don’t even have any dulce de leche at all. Perfect if you’re looking for a break from the usual creamy filling.

Don’t miss out on regional alfajores! If you’re heading to Córdoba or the north, look for ones made with fruit. Some even use local nuts or wines.

you’re just scratching the surface , you're missing out on a whole world of alfajores!
I recently tried Rasta alfajores and... dear god, they’re dangerously good. Total addiction. I think they’re handmade in small batches, and the dulce de leche inside is next level , super rich and creamy. If you see them anywhere, grab them.
