Being Black in Argentina: Experiences and Acceptance

That's awesome. Sounds like your friend took it as a sign of interest where as others could have taken as a sign of prejudice or racism because he's different. Same scenario, different interpretation. Growing up I was always called Bruce Lee, then later Jackie Chan but just always had fun a rolled with it 🙂 Sure some of it was racism, but best to be unperturbed.
It is actually reverse now as Asians are looked at as very intelligent and successful. My nice lives in the USA and only likes Asians. She said they are the smartest at school and from good families and hard workers. Not slackers like the white kids. You are probably going to have it easier now @FuturoBA. People like Asians.

I think this is a great video. I can't say what other black people go through but in the early 2000's I had one of my best friends who was black come to Buenos Aires with me many times. He loved it and didn't have any issues at all. It probably helped he looked exactly like a young Michael Jordan. Everyone kept calling him Michael Jordan. In those days there weren't any black people around at all. He got treated like a king.
I also have spent some good times with my black friend from Atlanta. He always liked standing out. We had some fun times when he came. That was a long time ago. Gone are all the bars they had. I remember going to Black and Madahos with him. He was very popular!
