Uncertainty due to a new official improvisation in Deputies. Criticism of Martín Menem and the new head of the libertarian bloc, Gabriel Bornoroni. “The kitchen is in Congress, not in the Casa Rosada,” they said from a dialogue bloc

The debate in particular on the bases law of last February (Gustavo Gavotti)

In the midst of a notorious libertarian improvisation, the anti-Kirchnerist opposition warned in the last few hours that, if the Government does not find a honest deputy to review article by article of the delayed and threaded omnibus law - version 1,000 -, there will be a particular vote chaotic in the lower house. That is, a pessimistic scenario like last February, a situation that would activate a total divorce of Javier Milei with what he considers - without looking at his own - the “caste”.

“ The kitchen is in Congress, not in the Casa Rosada .” It's good that they got together with some blocks and governors, but they talked more about taxes than anything else. If the original law was ruled and generally approved weeks ago, the votes will be repeated for that. The problem is that there is not a single representative of them who has done a real vote-by-vote count on the sensitive articles . Nor is the head of the Lower House, Martín-Menem , very interested , who continues to play internal games with -the Secretary General of the Presidency- Karina Milei ,” an experienced legislator told Infobae .

From another block, a deputy told this medium: “What entered is not going to be. That's for sure. In addition, we must add a labor chapter with different projects presented and with no clear horizon in sight, beyond good intentions. And we have supposedly 'dialogue' benches that, in the previous discussion, presented different opinions, voted dissociatively and continue with unresolved internal issues . A weak outlook in terms of good omens.”

In recent days, criticism of Menem was added to that directed towards the new head of the libertarian bloc, Gabriel Bornoroni . “As soon as he took office, he should have renounced ownership of the General Legislation commission, which is the head of the omnibus law. We also don't know when the debate starts. Or whether we will discuss everything as a package or separately. And let's not forget his actions in the venue weeks ago. “Too many open flanks for the intention of having all this approved in less than 10 days,” they said from another office.

Another legislator with years in Congress maintained that, although the scenario coincides with that described by the majority of anti-K forces in the Lower House, " there is better synergy with the Government ." However, the schedule dreamed of by libertarians in Deputies collides with minimal plenary meetings to analyze the combo of laws with national officials, for fiscal purposes; and with unions, for labor .

One of the first calls for attention came weeks ago from the Senate, as Infobae reported at the end of last March. “ How do you explain that the Milei Government shows a draft of the new Omnibus Law and, in its article 1, we already have contradictions between the emergencies they request and the emergencies that are in force in the mega DNU ? We just ask for a little more common sense,” said a top non-Kirchnerist opposition legislator.

The mega DNU establishes, in its first article, the declaration of “the public emergency in economic, financial, fiscal, administrative, pension, tariff, health and social matters until December 31, 2025.” That is, eight. Meanwhile, the draft of the initiative - also called "bases" - imposes four: administrative, economic, financial and energy for a period of one year. The difference is that, regarding the latter, the Executive demands the delegation of powers, a vexing issue for some sectors that perceive themselves as “dialoguists.”

A juicy topic that exposed part of the opposition, during the debate of the first law in Deputies, was that of trust funds. “It is understood that now they want to eliminate them. In this way, it would be avoided to repeat the mistake of the summer due to the interests that appeared in the middle of the venue. The problem is that it is not clear in the fifth article if they return to the Treasury. I would have to go to co-participation. If not, we will leave a mountain of money for the Executive to convert that into the new National Treasury Contributions (ATN) to negotiate with the provinces bilaterally. There are examples from recent years that were not seen by any of the previous administrations. And, about them, anything was done ,” they expressed from another opposition bench days ago.

To all this must be added the bidding on privatizations or schemes between the public and the private for State companies, economic deregulations, money laundering, the end of the pension moratorium and Profits. The last issue presents a complex vote count in the Senate. In relation to what happened during the summer period, communications flow a little more smoothly, although without all the non-Kirchnerist opposition consulted - such as the dissident Peronists -, who will make their votes count. Hence the inevitable embrace that Milei will have to make with the “caste”, unless she finishes confirming a full divorce until the legislative elections of 2025.
