BA Ecobici rates for foreigners – anyone knows?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know the current rates for BA Ecobici for foreigners? Last I heard, it was around 10,000 ARS for a day rental. Also curious about the orange bikes. Maybe it’s cheaper if you rent them for shorter periods? Any updates would be appreciated!

You need DNI to register there. I don’t know if the foreigners could use it.

No, if you don’t have a DNI, you can register in person at one of the stations, and the requirements are as follows:

I just checked on the Ecobici app, for tourists, a 1-ride pass (up to 45 minutes) costs 2,100 ARS, and you can buy more than one per day. There’s also a 1-day pass for 15,000 ARS, which gives you unlimited trips of up to 90 minutes each in 24 hours. If you go over the time limit, you get a 5-minute grace period, and after that it’s 50 ARS per extra minute. Also, you need to wait 15 minutes before starting a new ride after ending one.

As a foreigner who used Ecobici's every day for a week, I would strongly recommend you find a local to sign you up on the app using their DNI, passport, and credit card. It's impossible to get it to work otherwise (unless they've sorted it out in the past year). I'm sure the difficulty signing up is why the app has such a terrible rating, because once you get the app going everything else about Ecobici is quite good.

My foreign friends that try to use it always fall flat. The app is terrible. I always have to use my DNI for them.

Nope foreigners it doesn't work. You can sign up but then it never works. I had the past 10 friends in BA in 2025 always fail.

I don't think they sorted it out. My sister was in town recently and tried using the App and it wouldn't work for her. I had to let her use my account. A shame as you said Craig because there are so many bikes out there and many tourists would love to use them. Friends ask me all the time that come here but it never works. I hope they get this fixed.

My cousin was just in town. App didn't work for him as a foreigner.
