Can any of you recommend a place to get quality sneakers here in Buenos Aires? The price of shoes here are outrageous for the quality brands. I looked at a few local brands and they are also expensive and poor quality. Is there any where to get authentic name brand athletic shoes? Or maybe I am looking at the wrong brands that are made locally. What are some good national brands that would be compatible to American sneakers? Walking, hiking trails. Not necessarily running shoes or fashion sneakers.

I haven't found any decent local brands. Poorly made and expensive. I go to the New Balance store in Palermo Soho. Prices actually aren't too bad compared to a few years ago. Otherwise there are a few athletic shoe stores at Alto Palermo Mall with different brands.

The local shoes are sh*t. BA is a great walking city. I walked so much I wore my shoes out. I got some great hiking shoes at a store on Callao @ Santa Fe. It's called Ansilta. Great shoes. I got some Scarpa hiking and trail running shoes and they were great. Wasn't cheap but the best option that I found.

There is an outlet store here called Central Park and they have a lot of sneakers and sports stuff. Many different brands. Usually are not the latest models but they have some good prices here.

Try Grimoldi which has a branch on Santa Fe/Rodriguez Pena. They have great hiking shoes. Merrell and Caterpillar which are great.

If you are 11 in US then that is a 44 in Argentina usually. If you live in Recoleta over in that area it sounds like you have some $$$ and shouldn't be walking around with broken shoes. 🤣

Get these. I just bought this one for my husband. He is also size 11. The price came down on them. 199,000 pesos or $137 dollars. They do 6 interest free payments if times are tight. Anything Merrell is very good. If you walk all over the city they are comfortable and last a long time. That store on Santa Fe is very good. They can order one in your size if they don't have it.

That is a great store! I got a few pairs there at that store. They are great! I do a lot of walking in BA. Sometimes up to 10 miles a day. Barry try the Caterpillar. I got a pair and they are very comfortable. They have them in your size. Also Hush Puppies are sold there and they are very comfortable too and as the others mentioned, the price there is very reasonable for imported shoes. If you have a local card they can spread out the payments. 0% interest.
