Just created another account with another phone number and email (Wife's), and it still works. Now we know what not to do. We have been placing orders and receiving deliveries without any hassles for months.

I signed up while I was here. I am not sure if that matters, though. Having a local phone is, I think, mandatory, so I had to do it once I was here.

Yes when I did it I had to have an Argentinean cellphone so they could send me an SMS confirmation.

I think you nailed most of the good ones. The only other apps I used all the time in Buenos Aires that I don't use at home is Whatsapp. In the US I just use iMessages but here everyone uses Whatsapp. I also used the Western Union app a few times. Also the Currency App is great.

Probably the app I used the most was Uber.

Booking a rental car with them was a breeze. They accepted my international card on their website, followed up on WhatsApp to collect DL and passport details (No DNI asked), and the collection process was smooth too.

I was never asked for a DNI anytime I have rented in Argentina. Are you taking a roadtrip @bapal? Where ya heading? Car rentals are expensive in Argentina I have found.
